We'll see if third-party developers use the area around the notch. My bet is very few will. Every single image showing the notch on the MBP product page shows apps in floating windows over the Finder. I think they will just black out that area and start their apps below the notch. The notch will end up being a thing you only see when you see the Finder.

Pretty, but with little practical functionality. The notch is the new Touch Bar.
(I'm not saying it was a mistake. I wish developers would design around it, but why would they bother when they can ignore it?)

The casing looks just like my MBP from about 12 years ago.

The SiriusXM app isn’t built into CarPlay. Since you have the app on your phone, it exposes itself to CarPlay. SiriusXM needs to redesign the app for CarPlay to make it much more intuitive. 

Ha! SiriusXM is run by the cheapest, old-time radio misers in history. They have Barely updated the app since its launch over ten years ago. They update the "look" and added the minimal they could to make it work with CarPlay, but they will only put enough money in it to make it limp along. The sound quality of the streaming service is also a tell. They vary the bitrate by channel and time of day to save money. It averages out between 96kbps and 128kbps. Every other streaming service is maxing out sound quality to please customers. SiriusXM is good with 1998 standards.

I went for a walk this morning listening to music in Spatial Audio. When I turned my head or a corner, the dynamic head tracking would stick in place for a couple of seconds before it adjusted to my facing. I think for music, you should be able to cut off the tracking and keep the Spatial part active. It makes sense when watching something (tried Atmos with the Apple TV update, works great btw), but with just audio, it doesn't make sense. 

I tried Dolby Atmos music and also "Spatialize Audio" which enhances regular stereo. The sound was really pleasant with my AirPods Max.
