  • Apple CEO Tim Cook again touts benefits of AR over VR, says 'no substitute for human contact'

The Verge did a very on point and sadly pretty accurate story on Siri (http://www.theverge.com/2016/10/12/13251068/walt-mossberg-apple-siri-is-dumb). If they can't get something like Siri working like the competition can with their products, Apple really needs to up their game. Since the iPad, the only thing they have come up with is the Apple Watch which while nice is not yet the game changer that the iPod, iPhone and iPad have been. Yes, I know a lot of dislikes are coming but take the time to read the article. Mossberg is hardly an Apple hater and Apple has already made changes to provide better response to his questions which means they are at least taking the criticisms seriously.
I would be interested to know what it is that you expect of Siri since my own personal experience is quite the opposite. I routinely use Siri to have her send messages for me, set reminders and timers, ask for directions or to have her find me points of interest.

Just last week I was out with friends and simply told Siri: "find me food" since we were all looking for a place to eat. Siri understood and immediately gave me a list of all of the restaurants in my vicinity. At the same time one of my friends tried doing the same with their Galaxy device but it couldn't even parse what he was saying.

I see a lot of people talking about how Siri is so terrible but I really don't see it, what is so terrible about Siri compared to it's competitors? (Or in general)

If I were Apple I'd drop the mini and lower the price of the 9.7" iPad to the price of the mini. Then lower the price of the iPad Pro models down to the price of the 9.7" iPad. Just in time for the holidays too. Apple's doesn't need an iPad mini Pro model. There are way too many models of iPads as it is between the different screen sizes, old models, new models, Wifi models, LTE models, Pro models, capacity models, etc. Its just too much IMO.
whats wrong with having more choices?

people keep grumbling there isn't a 4 inch flagship iPhone.
Yet when Apple is rumored to make a flagship iPad mini people say its too much.

    iPad Mini - 2 models
    iPad Air - 2 models
    iPad Pro - 2 models

Whats wrong with that? Why limit choices just to claim simplicity? Makes no sense.  Most people know what size they want. Then they choose between 2 models. Easy as pie.

In fact I know many people who would LOVE to buy a 12.9 non-Pro version of the iPad. They don't need pencil support, smart connector, or extra speakers. They just want a larger iPad Air. Truth is Apple will release what ever models that make sense and can sell enough units. If they release a Mini Pro, then from their research they determined there is ample demand for a high powered mini iPad
It is reminiscent of the period at Apple when Jobs wasn't there, Apple had a huge lineup of products, some good and some bad but in the end the choice in products was too big. When Jobs returned he pointed this out and tried to change it.
Apple became big again by being simple and elegant. Having three options is more than enough, it makes it easier on Apple to maintain and supply, easier on stores for keeping inventory and easier on the consumer when making a choice on what device to buy.

In my opinion Apple does best when they have no more than 3 models of all products.

iPhone, iPad, iPod, iMac, macbook, appleWatch

Small and light model (Air and mini lineups) -> cheaper for users with low demands, most portable model
Regular model -> average consumers that with a good balance between portability and utility. (slightly bigger in size, more emphasis on features)
Pro model -> for Pro users (hence the pro lineup), have the latest of all the technologies with the flip side that it is more expensive and maybe a little bulkier.
