    It’s been unfair for a very long time. Fair is good.
    The trade deficit towards EU is 3%. It is mainly unfair to EU as Boeing and Northrop are not delivering on time. So put a 1.5% tariff on EU now - and the we can reverse it when Boeing starts shipping. Fair?

    • This morning "tariffs on everyone - penguins especially".
    • Earlier today "Trump to hit medicine with major tariffs"
    • A bit later "125% on China". The Apple Polishing Cloth could be $45.
    • Currently "10% on everything, 125% on China, 25% on steel and aluminum"
    • And tomorrow the numbers are... 
    It takes 30-40 days to ship products from a factory. Now we get 3 months of uncertainty.
    Supply chains remain in distress.

    The Hill should take back control. If Trump can wait 90 days then this is no national emergency.

    Maybe, but the EU has similar issues that manufacturing the US has. 
    EU has one thing that US is no longer is able to offer: Political stability supporting long term investments backed up by a strong legal framework. One might not like EU, but it is extremely predictable (took 15 years from Apple agreed to a common charger to delivery of USB-C). 

    Predictable is not something Trump is capable of.

    Apple has to build AI data centers.  That’s not a maybe, it’s an absolute.  They probably need to build them around the world as well.  I can’t say if they are investing more now in the US than they would have before tariffs, so they can look good. 
    Microsoft pulled back from several U.S. data centers after the tariffs were announced. Apple might have to do the same:
    1. The number of Americans being able to afford an AI enabled phone will go down due to tariffs ($2000 iPhones). That old phone could last a few years more and so Apple shouldn't go online with capacity too early. A global recession due to tariffs = same story.
    2. Servers and solar panels are now much more expensive as they are hit by tariffs. This makes U.S. data centers more expensive.
    Placing data centers just across the border could make sense. My bet would be on Canada. Reduced need for cooling, cheaper energy, and a stable political environment. Apple could let Foxconn own the centers to hide the investment.
