  • iPadOS 26 fixes nearly everything wrong with the platform after everyone already left

I really like my iPad Pro M1 but frankly with few exceptions, for anything serious I need to go back to my Mac. In fact once it's time to upgrade to a new iPad I will no longer be buying the pro model as my hopes of getting truly pro apps on iPad have died. Logic Pro is a fail as they cannot encourage the big players to develop for it and they certainly don't want to go through the App Store and neither do consumers of plugins for Logic Pro. Our dream of being able to develop the same project on iPad or Mac died because our plugins don't work on iPad and quite a large chunk of functionality available on Mac has been left out of the iPad version.  The two versions of Logic Pro are simply not compatible enough with each other and I am not prepared to wait 10 years for Apple to finally get the message.  The OS, the App Store and the enormous fees that Apple takes are holding back users of iPads from realising its full potential. A brilliant device hamstrung by greed is how I would sum it up.

  • Apple rumored to release iOS 26 at WWDC, instead of iOS 19

Wow! Something happened to me yesterday which made me think that they need to do something about the naming of the various OS that they have including MacOS then today they did. I would prefer to see the full 4 digit year but I doubt it will ever be an issue. I just think it's clearer if they use the full year.

  • Don't update to iOS 13 just yet -- wait for iOS 13.1

Maybe good advice in hindsight but it’s unacceptable for email, one of the main purposes of the OS to have issues but Apples lost its way a bit over the years. And Of course if you picked up your new iPhone today you didn’t have a choice. That said my 11 Pro Max is fine. Emails working normally. New Apple Watch is great too. Only annoyance is no ECG for Australia yet again. Looking forward to installing iPad OS soon.

  • Apple's iTunes Remote updated with two-factor authentication

Seems like a bit of overkill to me.

  • Facebook undertaking limited testing of ads inside Messenger iPhone app

Yay! Facebook is putting Australia first. Take that Trump. :) I’ve been looking for an excuse to abandon Facebook completely in a way that friends would understand and not think is me being anti social. I’m not. I’m just a bit anti Facebook. This is perfect. Bring ‘em on I say. In any case I prefer iMessage and good old SMS over Facebooks Messenger App.  No ads in iMessage and none in my SMS messages either.  Their ads can be quite slick and look very much like a friends has liked something and I find that deceptive advertising to be highly immoral. It’s just a low trick you’d expect from a criminal outfit and not an apparently respectable company. Nigerian scammers comes to mind.
