Samsung, LG concerned by Apple's plans to replace OLED with micro-LED in 2017 Apple Watch ...
Micro - LED is the future for sure the tech is so advanced way more efficient and also won't have any burn in/lifetime issues like OLED. Also it will once again give Apple a huge leg up on the competition. Right now and I'd say in the past year or two starting with the S6 Sammy had an advantage basically owing the OLED display market and factories to its own. Apple needs such scale and to manufacture so many iPhones the capacity wasn't there for Apple to use, even this year Samsung will be barely able to supply Apple with enough displays for the iPhone 8/X. If Apple can own there own factories for displays and memory by god does the future of the company look very bright, especially with he Chip teams Apple has in place already for there A-series processors -
On its 2nd anniversary, Apple Watch settling into role as fitness & notification wearable ...
I originally thought I would never want LTE either on my watch, until I got AirPods. For things like Skiing/Mountain Biking, to not have to carry my phone at all and have access to Apple Music/Spotify would be great! The longer I wear the watch the more I miss it when its not on my wrist, as an example even just waking up in the morning making coffee, I look down at my wrist automatically to check notifications and even just turn my Sonos Music on and I don't have it on yet, its all the little convinces that add up like others have said. Im happy I bought the Sport Model first gen, as the 2nd Gen was a huge upgrade regarding speed so now I have the Stainless Black. The first gen was just too slow I think Apple could have waited even longer for Series 2 to be the first model. Looks wise I fine the Stainless Models much more attractive, just the polished steel looks much more like a real watch especially with the metal or leather bands I think they look pretty nice, you just have to be will to pay. Also the main killer App will be Apple Pay along with he health functions as they advance more in the future for sure. The US is finally accepting NFC I'd say 80% where I go, unheard of two years ago, now if just all restaurants can accept Apple pay where in business. -
Apple's 'iPhone 8' to boast larger Plus-sized battery in form factor similar to 4.7" iPhon...
Starting to sound better and better, this is the phone a lot of us longtime users have been waiting on. Same size chassis as the 4.7 but with all screen/bigger screen and you can still use with one hand. Also if they make the battery that good and better than a 7 Plus battery life, then I can welcome regular inductive charging with open arms like the watch, if the phone really lasts all day long with 15-20% battery life left when set down for bed on its charging pad like the watch. -
Apple extends discount on USB-C cables, monitors, hard drives, adapters, more until March ...
If there extending this until the end of March, def going to have another Mac event prob early March with updated desktops Mac Pro/Mini/iMac with USB-C/Thunderbolt ports. Mac Pro needs to go back to tower like the cheese grader for Pro's that need up grading, and maybe shrink the cylinder design down for a new Mini. Interested to see where they can go design wise with a new iMac, would love one in Space Grey too.
