  • Kuo: Demand for new MacBook Pro models tepid due to high prices, disappointing specs

He is as right about this as he was about the latest iPhone, which is to say, not very.

Apple will not be able to make these computers fast enough to keep up with demand.

  • Wall Street positive on Apple's Q4 earnings, bullish on iPhone 7 holiday sales

I am long on AAPL but I understand some negativity surrounding the stock. All Apple's businesses declined except for services. But services have a ceiling for growth, imposed by hardware sales. I mean, how many Android Apple Music users are there? It's not like the good old days of iTunes, or at least, it doesn't seem to be that way so far.

The car? That seems to be done. The watch? Seems like a nice little hobby more than an engine of exponential growth.

So any realistic foreseeable growth is coming on the back of the next iPhone, in a world where smart phones are reaching market saturation.

It's a formula for robust profits and continued profitability for Apple, sure thing -- but growth? Not so much.

And without that obvious potential for exponential growth, there is no investor greed, and without that greed, there is no share price growth.

So yeah... the best tech company in the world is a value play.

Apple is well-run. Great work, Apple. But maybe there is a deficit of vision there... idk.

  • Tim Cook says Apple is interested in both content creation and ownership

If Apple had great original series and movies content, available to stream only on Apple devices, that would provide a compelling reason to people to buy Apple hardware.

Could Apple create compelling original series and movie content?

Yes, if they bought Time Warner or another company....

Would it justify the cost? Netflix just took out another loan (800 million dollars in this case) to finance its original content, and the company barely turns a quarterly profit.

  • Microsoft Surface sales boom amid tepid iPad demand

It makes sense that iPad sales would decline, given the overwhelming success of the larger screen iPhones, which do everything the iPad does and more. If you have an iPhobe with a big screen, in most cases that is all you need, no? The iPad made more sense in the era of the iPhone 4 etc.

  • US government bans defunct Galaxy Note 7 from all flights citing fire threat

Good. Ban dangerous materials on flight. Fireworks. Firearms. Flammables.

But I agree, that one Android butthead is gonna be powering up the old Molotov Mobile Device on the flight.

"The government can't control me" -- "The govt is controlled by Apple" -- "It's my right" -- at least the Second Amendment doesn't protect the citizens' right to bear Samsungs.
