  • Patent troll hits Apple with second lawsuit over Apple Maps

Just leave Texas already so they have to trial this in a state that actually has something of value there!

  • Tile buyer Life360 reportedly sells precise user location data to nearly anyone

Crap.  I am yanking the batteries from the two tiles I own and removing the app.  Tile, I DO NOT AGREE WITH YOUR TERMS IF SERVICE AND PRIVACY POLICY.   Thus, I am dumping your product.

Apple, please let me share my AirTag so the whole family can track our dogs!

  • Apple hourly workers feel helpless under punishing pressure & mistreatment

There are literally two Apple stores in my area
serving over 3 million people.  It’s nuts!!!  Every time I get a survey, I put in that they need to open more stores in our area.   They are doing the employee and customers a total disservice.  Lines are out the door and forget getting a repair without an appointment.

Looking forward to Apple getting smacked down again.
It is hard to tell if that happens.  The law in question is a vague state law and Federal appeals courts tend to go with 'retain the status quo'. It all depends on how well Apple explains the situation and how fast the court acts.  A 30 day extension (getting Apple past the somewhat chaotic holiday season) could be in the cards.  I don't see much further down the line.

As for lawsuits against Apple for changing things - that is DOA because Apple would be compiling with a court ruling. I seriously doubt any judge would tolerate any such lawsuit and likely give a summary judgment so fast it would make the plaintiffs' heads spin like a top.  If they were really ticked off at the plaintiffs' they could have them pay Apple's legal fees on top of everything else.
Just file it in Texas!  Lots of moron successes there !!

  • Tile says AirTags helped its business, still says Apple is 'unfair'

Before AirTags released, Tile was prevented from running in the background one day which meant the app had to be open all the time in order to track. Then incessant warnings popped up that an app was location tracking in the background.  These are not bad alerts and brings awareness to “evil” app activity but also made Tile a lot more hassle to use.  AirTags are exempt from these alerts and limitations. Tile can’t just switch to Apple’s tracking solution because the hardware needs modification.  Competition is great but a simple discussion with Tile and some equitable treatment probably would have benefited both companies and consumers.  This scenario is similar to Microsoft adding utilities to Windows which wiped out whole software industries and led to eventual anti trust lawsuits.  I have both devices and the AirTag has further reach due to the tracking.  But Tiles can be shared which is great for pet tracking.
