  • Lobbying group backed by Apple and Google rails against Open App Markets Act

I’m a pretty big Apple fan, but when someone pays $1000 + for a phone, they deserve the right to do what they want with it.  I will still use the App Store, and I’m sure lots still will.  But if someone wants to side load god knows what and is fine with the risk then go right ahead.

  • Apple to remove popular DOS emulator for iOS from App Store

I’m a pretty big Apple fan but whoever is in charge of the App Store is a straight up idiot.   Stupid stuff like this is only contributing to the scrutiny of the App Store and literally bringing its future into question.

Those jobs they are threatening to quit?  There is a line of hungry kids ready to take those positions from you. I’m not sure if they think they have some sort of leverage other than “we’lol whine to VoX and give you bad publicity.”  Fuck em.
Can you imaging their future interviews… Why did you leave Apple? They wanted me to work in the office.
You (and most of the people posting) are obviously not software developers.  95% of the jobs offered now are remote.  I've only had one company say to me I had to be in the office, and so I declined the interview.  If you're in Hardware or Marketing you're pretty much screwed but for Software Development you can pretty much pick your job these days.  Not only can I make more money than working at Apple, but I don't have to pay the insane price of real-estate in Cupertino.  Apple is not going to win this, and they better figure out something fast.  I've already said this, but Apple Park was a huge mistake and a vanity project, the future for software development is remote, and Apple can get on that train or be left in the dust.

  • Apple attorneys threaten UK market exit if court orders 'unacceptable' patent fees

Consumers will pay the toll in raised prices.  Let the UK shoot themselves in the foot.
I don’t think everyone here understands the ruling. The UK is setting the patent fees for GLOBAL usage. That’s nuts.

  • Apple's Silicon Valley hiring issues prompts office expansion elsewhere

I called it.  The spaceship was a stupid idea. Sure it looks cool but was obviously a vanity project without considering the long term feasibility. A rare misstep for Steve Jobs.  Everyone is moving to Texas now to escape the insane prices of living in California.
