  • Apple Card adoption and use benefitting from the coronavirus pandemic

Apple needs an aggressive international rollout.  Too slow, too US focused.

It launched big and then stalled
Regulators in other countries are already lining up to pick Apple’s pocket. I can imagine very well why Apple would proceed slowly.

  • Apple shuts down Epic Games developer account

I wonder what Epic is thinking...
I get they are frustrated with the 30% “Apple Tax” but their actions make no sense.

I'm thinking that for them, they can only win.   They can't lose:
Their game is to break down the walls of the walled garden.
-- If they succeed then they win
-- if they don't succeed then they go back to obeying the rules -- and have lost very little (but gained a bunch of free publicity!)
Dude, what part of Epic is not allowed back in did you not understand?

  • EU launches antitrust probe on voice assistants like Siri and Alexa

Isn’t Apple 3rd behind Amazon and Google for their digital assistants?
Are they going to investigate Google, Microsoft and Samsung for the same thing?
Sounds like a cash shakedown to me. EU needs the cash badly due to Covid-19.
Especially since they need to Appeal the tax case now.
I bet they already spent that money they thought they were getting.
Desperate and Capri-cious is their game

I think this was a no-brainer, Apple and Ireland should have won this appeal. The European Commission's decision never demonstrated what it claimed it did and what it needed to in order to justify the action it took.

That said, I'm quite surprised that Ireland and Apple did win.
Let’s wait to see if the EC goes to the Court of Justice for a final verdict.
I suspect the EU will ultimately win. I'm surprised Apple and Ireland even won at this stage though.
The EU's case presentation was apparently less than stellar, losing on the preparation but not yet on the facts. I tend to agree with you that in the end Ireland (and by extension Apple) won't win this one.
On what basis except perhaps this is what you have always believed.
This would be one immediate reaction:
