New iPad Air & iPad Pro models are coming soon - what to expect
I have been using the "Pro" version of iPads since they debuted in 2016. They are slightly nice than regular iPads, but the word "Pro" has always been an exaggeration.
There is only one way an iPad Pro could be deserving of the "Pro" moniker. It should be able to dual boot Mac OS or even simultaneously run both OSs. That would be Pro. Now that both Mac and iPad have been running on Apple processors for some time, this should be an easy thing to do.I find both iPadOS and MacOS to be useful in ways the other is not. My usual coffee shop working solution includes both an MacBook Air M2, and an 11 inch M1 iPad Pro. Sometimes I use sidecar, but I often find the iPad more useful in iPad OS mode, to complement the MacOS at the same time. Sometimes an app is preferable to using a web page. With universal clip board I can instantly copy between both devices, and of course, I can use the MacBook keyboard on both devices. It would be more even more convenient and portable to be able to work this way with just one device. A 13 inch iPad True Pro, that can be used as pure tablet, or as both tablet and MacOS, or just MacOS. The different OSs could operate in separate windows in what could be called "Stage Manager Pro". -

Congo demands that Apple prove iPhone doesn't use conflict materials
BirderGuy said:The burden of proof is always on the accuser. How does someone prove a negative. Legally they must show evidence that Apple or any other manufacturer is using conflict materials. It’s like asking someone to prove they have never spit on the sidewalk or run a red light, or stolen something from a store. There is not much they can do about it if Apple shows them their supply chain records. They must show evidence that the accused as commuted the infraction. Not ask for proof they didn’t. -
Mazda adds touchscreen support to CarPlay in 2024 CX-5
Major Mazda fan here in Canada. Have owned a 2018 Mazda 3 sport GT, 2018 CX-5 GT (premium plus) 2020 CX-30 GS (preferred), 2021 and 2023 CX-30 GTs, and a 2022 Mazda3 GT sedan. I have always hated and disagreed with Mazda’s former intransigence on touchscreen for CarPlay. Not enough to stop me from purchasing the cars obviously.
Touchscreen functionality upgrades for CarPlay are not limited to the 2024 CX-5. It is also coming to the 2024 Mazda 3 sedan and hatchback, and to the 2024 Mazda CX-30. Wireless CarPlay and wireless charging are also coming to top trims of all these models. All models are also finally getting USB-C ports, instead of just USB-A. Top trims of the Mazda 3 and CX-30 will also get larger 10.5 inch screens, while lower models continue with the original 8.9 inch screens.
The CX-50 and CX-90 already have wireless charging, wireless CarPlay, and CarPlay touch screen functionality. With the CX-9 gone after the 2023 MY, that leaves the yet unannounced 2024 MX-5 Miata as the only Mazda model not yet confirmed to finally have touchscreen and wireless functionality available for Carplay.

Apple tells developers to update apps for iPad mini's new display size
The previous iPad mini display resolution was identical to that of the 9.7 inch iPad displays. I was surprised and disappointed that Apple did not use the same resolution as the Air 4.
I also wish they had copied the colour options from the Air 4. The mini 6 colours look okay on the web, but in real life they are bland and disappointing.
Those minor gripes aside, I am thrilled that Apple finally gave the mini an Air 4 style makeover. The iPad mini is just large enough to be a great tablet. The iPhone max is too large to be a great phone. For me a regular size iPhone together with an iPad mini is the ultimate ultraportable combination that fits into a (large) pocket,
