Seriously? Does this only apply to the version with cellular, or all series 3 watches? The 5s isn't that old, and I don't want to upgrade. I guess I won't be buying an Apple Watch after all if it won't work with my 5s. *sigh*

What's the alternative? The article mentions you can watch the video "unobstructed or expand it to full screen, which rounds off the corners and knocks out the slot where sensors sit. " Given that there must be sensors somewhere, and Apple allows you to either view a video in a rectangular window or expanded to fill the corners, it looks like they've covered all the bases. The only other option is to remove the sensors completely, but obviously that has large ramifications.

I was about to make the same comment about a ne'er do well simply holding your own phone in front of your face. At least with the fingerprint sensor you can attempt to physically resist. Maybe you can register a "panic face". If the phone detects it, it will then require a passcode. Or maybe it can detect you shaking your head.
