    Stopped reading when it said Prosser. 

    If true, this would, I would think, still have an A12 or 13, as I can’t imagine a 14 in anything before iPhone 12. 

    Might be in the minority here, but I just cannot get into the pro design. Prefer my iPad Air 3 look, with traditional home button.

    Great and all, but the update keeps failing.  I keep getting an "update unsuccessful" message after it attempts to prepare the update. 

    Oh well.

    Very true.  Out of interest, I've been checking the reviews, and they are most definitely mixed.  A fair number of people find the suggestions of things to ask Alexa annoying after a while, and there doesn't seem to be a way to remove them.  Whatever is on the screen, there's always a suggestion.  I was going to get two of these but opted, like you, for an original echo on sale.  I'm waiting for homepod.
