Apple hikes most India iPhone prices after tax hike, with iPhone X topping out at $1,647
This is a classic example and confirmation that corporations do not pay taxes. They are tax collectors; not tax payers. If taxes are increased that number gets passed onto the consumer. Raising taxes on corporations does nothing to the corporation. It only hurts the consumer and this is a real-world example. -
FCC votes to undo net neutrality protections despite public protests
magman1979 said:sflocal said:magman1979 said:I'm just STUNNED by the sheer ignorance and stupidity on display by so many of the posters in this thread, not realizing just what has happened and what WILL now be allowed to happen... This repeal has opened the door for all the corporations to start gouging the consumers and smaller companies.
This is the WORST thing to happen to the Internet since it's inception.
When AT&T blocked FaceTime back in the day, it wasn't Net Neutrality that brought it back. It was pissed-off users and bad PR, and other companies providing it to counter AT&T and steal its customers that brought it back.
Considering how loud and vocal today's Internet users are, I suspect that any company that does shady stuff to their Internet will feel their wrath, as well they should. All we can do is play the wait and see approach. I'm genuinely curious to see what will happen now.
All the BS spewed by Shithead Lying Pai is just that, flat-out LIES, that can be easily proven.
Holier-than-thou predictions? Wow, ignorance in the face of overwhelming facts of what is about to start happening couldn't be better illustrated with yours, and similar commentary. -

Funny how some who are for net neutrality seem to believe they are somehow entitled to a service that somebody else provides. Those businesses are not charities, they are businesses with a bottom line and responsibility to their shareholders. They're job is to make money. So, they will do so and if that means tweaking speeds to get there then so be it. If one doesn't like it then don't buy it. Simple concept. And the sentence in this article that says "potentially radically reshaping the nature of the U.S. internet." is complete horse hockey and hyperbole. All this essentially does is revert back to the way it was before this nonsensical policy was put into place to begin with. It wasn't called "radical" back then now was it? Now all of a sudden it's "radical". Give me a break. -
Apple's Denise Young Smith to leave Inclusion & Diversity post by end of 2017
You know when you've got money to burn when you hire a person who's job it is to hire people not according to their skill level but according to their ethnicity and culture. How about hiring people that can do the job....PERIOD. Doesn't matter if they're white, black, orange, plaid or pocodot. Get the job done. -
Apple kills iPod nano, iPod shuffle lines after nearly 12 years of service

No one has to use an iPhone to work out. Looking like a douche is optional, as usual.
In related news: reports of iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle devices disappearing in little puffs of smoke seem to have been greatly exaggerated. Nothing to see here, people.
So, that said, if a person wishes to switch from their $100 nano or shuffle which come with headphones they'll have to shell out money for a watch ($269) and airpods ($159) for a grand total (without tax) of $428 if they wish to continue to listen to their music like they used to? Wow what a deal LOL.
I don't carry my iPhone into the gym area. I leave it in my locker because I don't want the disruption of phone calls. This is why I use the shuffle and nano. I use Bose Sport wireless headphones for the nano. The only way to get around this is to lug my iPhone around the gym which I don't want to do and is why I went with the convenience of the shuffle and nano. Maybe in the future there will be an option to use the Apple watch detached from the iPhone (which I would love BTW) but until then my method of listening to music is pretty convenient.
Apple has has a solution to that. Watch & AirPods.
You dont have to like that solution. Which you seem to know already, since you've swapped your Apple earbuds for a set of Bose headphones.
Apple doesnt need everyone to want its solution. They need the people willing to pay $430 to want it. Once they achieve that success, I'd imagine they will slowly broaden their offerings until they hit all the price points they know to be profitable.
At least that's how they grew the original iPod business.
But what do I know?
