No. Just no. I can't forgive Apple for the abomination that is called "the notch." I'll be picking up an iPhone 8+ instead. They should have gotten inspiration from Samsung's Infinity display on how to do an edge to edge display.

    1) Samsung don't have any phones with equivalent FaceID technology (so there's no notch); your comparison is moot.

    2) When Samsung copy the FaceID technology with the notch, what will you say then?
First Apple is stupid and it's proof the company has lost direction (which is always something they've only ever had in the past, but never the present, which is impossible), and then it was always an obvious decision after others follow Apple's lead.
Of course, Steve Jobs would never have let that notch happen. Or never have removed the headphone jack or TouchID. Or use burn-in-prone OLED. Or...

  • Apple acknowledges iPhone X becoming unresponsive in cold weather, promises software fix

These sorts of ball-drops -- even if minor -- are getting to be a tad annoying. One would think this sort of thing was basic quality control.
It’s good that Apple is quickly addressing things but I have friends and family that are quite annoyed at always seeing a red notification badge on the settings app.
Heavens! Well heck, we don’t want to annoy your relatives — no more software updates or fixes, guys! Shut it all down...Software is now frozen!
You think my friends and family are the only ones annoyed by the constant software updates? Please. Constant updates for bug fixes eventually make you wonder why these bugs aren’t being caught in the first place.
Tell your friends and family to jump to Android -- they won't be bothered for updates for the life of the phone, depending on the carrier. ;)

Try the app “PCalc”. It’s great.
Or Calc Pro (with unit conversions, world currencies, etc.).

  • iPhone 7, iPhone 6s dominate Q3 smartphone sales, iPhone 8 has strong debut

Samsung Galaxy J2?  What?  Very few Android fans are buying Galaxy S8, S8+, S8 Edge? How about Google Pixel?  These phones were told to beat iPhone 7. Consumers are smart if they can personally test the goods they are buying.
I couldn't confirm from the Canalys link how a smartphone is defined. I assume a smartphone is running an OS with user-configurable software capability (Android or iOS) as opposed to a fixed-capability or feature phone OS.

If true, then the processor on which to run Android will get cheaper over time, making ever cheaper Android phones fit this data analysis (i.e., Apple will lose "marketshare").

Don't get me wrong - Apple don't give bubkes about such analyses (their profit margin will remain high), but it will feed the anti-Apple narrative.
