    I only see Intel Foundry Service as the only play that Apple may be interested in for the future (at the right node, at the right time, and in the US).

    I don't see how Intel will design a custom ARM device that satisfies Apple or, more importantly, exposes some Apple IP* to Intel for the design. Plus Apple's own Srouji is pretty darn good at what he does. *For example, think of all the power modes that Apple have designed into all their ARM blocks (for power efficiency), and how intertwined they are with MacOS. I doubt Apple would want Intel to know those details.

    I have been using Orbi an RBR50 and friends for a few years now. They were very simple to install and have been performing quite well. They have not been entirely trouble free but they are orders of magnitude faster than the Airport base station they replaced.

    Unfortunately they cap out at about 350 Mbps. I want to replace them with something that can support my 800 Mbps service. I want to look at the DECO product mentioned above. However, I do not want anything from Google or Amazon and am willing to pay a premium to avoid that.
    I'm in the same boat. I've been using the drop-dead reliable and simple Airport for about a decade, but as I add more streaming devices it is getting taxed.

    I've been looking at Ubiquiti's line of products (Wi-Fi, switches, routers, etc.). I ran across this website (https://evanmccann.net/blog/2021/6/ubiquiti-faq), and the AmpliFi line of products seem very Apple-like. Note that I haven't actually bought anything yet, so I have no first-hand experience. I'm more interested in the UniFi line (more configurable but not as simple as AmpliFi).

    I'm hooked, also. I'm not familiar with the books, so I have no biases. The slow-burn character development is not too slow for me. The visuals of the space elevator getting destroyed were great. Reminds me of the Dune movie of the '80's, which I liked but had to watch a few times to get all the details.

    I'd like to think that the "crappy updates" are due to Srouji's team working on M1x/M2/whatever.

    I'm still satisfied with the speed of my Series 5. Only thing I really want from a future watch is more battery life and/or blood pressure measurement.
