Not all 32-bit software is ancient. I use Lightroom 6 standalone and have no alternative lined up yet, certainly not the subscription.

  • Apple denied dismissal of 'unwieldy' dust filter class action lawsuit

I had this issue too, but didn't know it was (supposedly) dust. The graphics card failed and the iMac was "obsolete" so I didn't bother to fix either thing.

  • How to recover deleted files from iCloud on your Mac

Errr, it works fine on iPad if you use "request desktop site" in Safari. At least it does on my 12.9" Pro. Edit: ah, Denis beat me by a couple of minutes with the same info.

  • How to back up your iPhone or iPad to an external drive to save space on your Mac

The Terminal command shown is backwards! The syntax is: ln -s So what you should be typing is: ln -s ~/Library/Application\ Support/MobileSync /Volumes/Sierra/BackupiPhone/Backup/ By the way, spaces in the link name are perfectly OK - you just have to "hide" them on the command line. There are (at least) three different ways to do this - one of which is actually shown in this line, where the space in "Application Support" is "hidden" by putting a backslash in front of it. This will work just fine on the link's name as well. (You can also put the whole name in single or double quotes). -- Jerry
No it's not. In the form as it's used in the article: "ln -s [WhatTheLinkPointsTo] [DirectoryName]" a symbolic link will be created in the directory of the second argument, with the (base-) name of the first argument. So that's good.

  • Your favorite Twitter clients are about to get less useful

"For third-party developers like Tapbots, however, access to the Account Activity API is cost prohibitive." -- Yeah. Twitter's "Premium Account Activity API Package" is a joke with allowing a maximum of 250 accounts for a subscription price of $2899/month, so more than $10 per account per month. Ain't nobody got time or money for that. So general app developers will need (at least) "Enterprise" access of which Twitter only discloses the cost upon request. I don't imagine it's lower...

Effectively, and this has been going on for years of course, they're shutting out 3rd party apps. Which is their good right; their platform their rules, and it wouldn't bother me as a user IF ONLY they bothered to maintain their damned apps for different platforms! Especially for Mac desktop, in my case.
