watchOS 4 no longer lets you browse iPhone music library on your Apple Watch
I am also frustrated by this change. But I do have some hope.
There is an app called "Static" that replicates this feature right now on watches with watchOS4. I have a Series 2 and it works, although it doesn't work as well as Apple's used to. I created an account to post this as I do find it to be a serviceable alternative.
Apple has mistreated its customers and I won't be upgrading to a Series 3 any time soon, if ever, depending on what happens. I no longer buy music from iTunes anymore either, because I do not trust their intentions. But I hope they have indeed left it open for third party developers to include this functionality into their apps. Hopefully Ecoute or Cesium soon develops a watch app that performs this function as well and I will never have to use Apple's music app ever again. Sort of like how Apple never had a podcast app that allowed similar kinds of browsing on the watch, but apps like Overcast do (and do it very well). Sometimes I think Apple just acknowledges their bloated apps aren't that great and they leave it to developers who are more skilled.
