  • Review: Brydge Pro Keyboard for iPad Pro beats Apple's offering in nearly every way

As it turns out, the Bryce 12" keyboard tips the scales at 1.5 POUNDS, which is more than the weight of the 2018 iPad 12.9" itself.
There's a good reason the keyboard is heavier than the iPad: the iPad would tip over at some angles otherwise. Apple's floppy keyboards only work at a couple angles because the weight of the iPad is so much greater than the keyboard. Have you ever tried to type on an iPad with Apple's type cover resting in your lap? Nice angle and balancing act, eh? (it's not.) Apple's keyboard is mostly useless for lap typing.

I agree with the reviewer. Having had one of Apple's floppy keyboards attached to my iPad Pro for years, then moving to a Brydge keyboard, the Brydge is SO much better for people who need to type on their iPads. The main problems with Apple's floppy keyboards are they keep falling off, they don't provide enough protection for the iPad, and they're very difficult to type on. Brydge's keyboards main issues are they add bulk, they occasionally need to be charged, and you might have to type a key or two before the iPad realizes you have an attached keyboard. I would also recommend Brydge purchasers buy the iPad back cover that matches up with the keyboard (to protect both sides of the iPad).

  • Quicktime 7, Carbon, Ink, Apple's hardware RAID support predicted to be gone in macOS 10.1...

I am genuinely curious as to what still uses QuickTime 7. That hasn't been updated in many years (I believe in 2015).
The QuickTime Player Pro 7 app had editing tools that never made it to QuickTime Player 10. If memory serves, it could edit .mov files; add, delete or append audio and video tracks to a .mov, and play MPEG2 files. Most of those things can be done in iMovie, but not as easily.

  • Steve Jobs predicted the Mac's move from Intel to ARM processors

"Mac shifting to ARM may come as soon as ..."  ... ore more likely, it may not.
It's a dumb idea that breaks the Windows compatibility that has been Apple's hook into bringing people over from the dark side, and will involve huge amounts of angst for everyone, with no 'noticeable' difference (other than your software won't work). By noticeable, it needs to run 40 times faster for anyone to care.
Have you noticed what software is popular on Windows? Chrome, iTunes, Office, Adobe CC, anti-virus, torrent software. All of these are on macOS too. I have a feeling the people running Windows VMs on Mac are the geekier among us; and it's not the potential audience Apple desires for Mac. (Apple is content with geekier phone users buying Android, and regular folks buying iPhones.) If Apple produces chips running twice as fast as Intel's at lower cost, that would be fast enough to be noticed. Forty times faster would be better though, you're right.

I also think macOS devs won't have much trouble with a recompile unless Apple drops AppKit and goes UIKit-only on the new chip.

  • Apple may reveal a plan for iPhone & iPad game subscriptions at the March 25 event

This is a great idea for users and for developers of games with good replay value. Not so great for Google's AdMob platform, which would lose ad business proportionate to the popularity of this service. I don't think users will be too upset at the loss of banner and interstitial ads.
