  • Canadians may never get to use AirPods Pro 2 as hearing aids

A spokesperson for Ontario's Ministry of Health said that prescribing hearing aids is restricted to licensed audiologists and physicians. "Should the AirPods Pro 2 be sold in Ontario as a hearing aid it would need to be done in accordance with the requirements [of the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991]

Ontario is not all of Canada. Why if Ontario objects, couldn’t I still get a set with the feature in British Columbia.

  • Apple's foldable iPad rumored to get under-display Face ID

This far out these are more in the realm of wishes than rumours based on anything real. If it doesn’t happen nobody will remember. If it does they are the one who were right.

  • iPhone 'batterygate' legal drama isn't quite done yet

Once again everybody...here are the three situations where throttling could occur:

    A. Battery is at or below 80% capacity. Any lithium ion battery in any phone begins to lose the ability to provide consistent voltage at/below 80% capacity.

    B. Battery is at or below 20% charge. Regardless of whether the battery is brand new or old, voltage flow can become inconsistent below 20% charge.

    C. Battery is exposed to cold temperatures. Freezing temperatures can cause any lithium ion battery in any phone to lose consistent voltage flow.

All three of those situations are standard limitations for any phone sized lithium ion battery. And two out of the three don't require the user to get a new battery. Throttling would only occur in situations where the voltage demand from the system was too high for the battery to provide. In other words, without throttling the phone would simply shut off as a safety precaution per the voltage issue.
It’s my impression that well over 90% of those screaming about ‘throttling’ never encountered it. It just became an internet thing and lots of people jumped on to have an excuse to bash Apple. In reality it was something that only a tiny fraction of users ever ran into. People who needed to push their low charge/work out phones that hard had a choice: crash or throttle, and throttling was the lesser of two evils.

I’ve never thought all the vitriol and lawsuits had any basis in reality.

  • Apple's mmWave C1 modem won't launch until 2026

The analyst implies that Apple is working on an updated C1 modem rather than a C2. Other sources have claimed that a C2 is already in development, but again that's a prediction on a par with night following day.
Both could be true. C1.5 for later this year and a C2 for next year.
