Humane's AI Pin is no more and owners are left with nothing
The biggest problem was that they did model it off of the Communicator badge in Star Trek: The Next Generation. That worked very well as an expository plot device. Riker taps communicator, “Enterprise, we just encountered X, Y, and Z, and we’re going to need to do A, B and C”. It worked great as a tool to let the audience know what was going on. What it isn’t is a good way to find your Proctologist’s office without shouting that to the world. At least an iPhone CAN be used quietly.
No this was a bad idea that ended badly.

Questionable iPhone 17 Pro Max render in better light looks almost tolerable
I’ve seen renders of what this looks like from the side. It’s worse. Not only is there a big awkward block sticking out, but the camera lenses are still proud of the surface of the block making them even more likely to get damaged. I seriously doubt that Apple would go with something this bad. -

I can’t agree. To me, and it’s only my opinion, that’s hideous. That may be one of the ugliest phones I have ever seen. -
