  • How Tim Cook gets Trump to help Apple

Don’t bother trying to put lipstick on a pig. The next few years will be bad for everyone. Cook’s relationship with the man known for stabbing his friends in the back will not make any difference.
Well history of the first four years of the Trump Administration proved you wrong and most Americans, via the recent election, disagree with you.
Trump’s first term was a disaster for the country. The economy still has not recovered. He left us distrusted by our allies, our enemies strengthened and emboldened, and a million dead from covid. There is nothing that Trump touched his first term that he did not screw up beyond all recognition. The term in incompetent at any speed comes to mind. Then he finished with January 6 which was nothing but pure treason. No, history has shown that Trump was a disaster for the country.

  • iPhone 17 Slim probably won't have a telephoto camera

I think most people would want a longer lasting battery,  even if it means a slightly thicker phone.  Nobody cares about having the thinnest phone if battery life is a joke compared with regular phones.  I think breakthroughs in battery technology are more important than cameras.  Battery breakthroughs are the next big thing,  not cameras.
Apple is likely designing this “iPhone Air” to have similar battery life to existing iPhone models. If they achieve it, then, a lot of people will care, and will buy it.
Honestly I would not be at all surprised if Apple makes the Air for a couple or three years and then drops it due to low demand. It could be the Mini models all over again. Fewer features at a higher price all for a difference that’s almost unnoticeable unless you hold them up next to each other? A difference that will vanish when it gets a case put on it? I could be wrong, but it would not surprise me at all if there just isn’t that much demand for it.

  • iPhone 17 Air could be Apple's thinnest iPhone yet, with a thickness of just 6mm

Relative to the current iPhone 16 Plus, which has a thickness of 7.8mm, the iPhone 17 Slim will allegedly feature a housing that's only 6mm thin
1.8mm thinner? That’s about 1/16th of an inch. All of that, and a limited camera just to gain 1/16th? Who TF would even notice let alone care?

  • Apple ending iCloud backup support for iOS 8 and earlier on December 18

What is the cut off for devices that won’t run iOS9?

EDIT: I dug around and it appears that the iPhone 4 is the last one that won’t go to iOS9*. It appears that the 4S will. Anyone still running an iPhone 4 would be lucky if it worked with anything. We’re talking well over a decade ago. I keep my stuff longer than most, (running an 11 right now) but a 4 would be crazy.

*Feel free to let me know if this isn’t the case.
