  • Actor Orlando Bloom stops play because of audience member just holding an iPad

I am an actor. I’ve been on a fair number of stage productions. The rule above all others is “Never Break Charactor’. It’s even on the dressing room wall of one of the theatres I’ve worked in. What he did was unprofessional. If he found it anmoying he should have waited until he was offstage and mentioned it to the Stage Manager. They could have gotten an Usher to take care of it. Not only did he interrupt the play, breaking the focus of the audiance, he interrupted the focus of all the other actors. Getting into charactor requires concentration. By interrupting the flow of the play he caused problems for everyone else in the production. It was unprofessional and I don’t care if it was Orlando Bloom, I hope the Director and Stage Manager read him the riot act after curtain. You don’t do that to the rest of the cast.

  • The Touch Bar on the MacBook Pro is well implemented, but serves no useful purpose

As long as the TouchBar is limited to a couple models of laptop, it's use will be limited. Until we get a keyboard with a TouchBar with every desktop Mac, and it expands to all laptop Macs, developers will be hesitant to spent the time and money to make full use of it. I agree theTouchBar may be a transition to something. They'd better get on with it because as of right now users and developers are staying away from using it.

  • Steve Jobs, Theranos' Elizabeth Holmes, and when the 'reality distortion field' fails

Both were young charismatic people with big ideas. However,
One followed them up with products, great products.
One followed them up with nothing. It was just lies.

That's the difference between a visionary working at the bleeding edge of technology, and a simple fraudster. I hope they throw the book at her.

    and no new Macs.
Software show for software developers. Hardware is a different show.
(yes I know occasionally they’ve announced HW at WWDC. Those were anomalies. This is at heart a software show.)

Why does nobody care about LinkedIn also removed? :)
Likely a factor of the people on AI. LinkedIn is useful in some industries, but not all. A few years ago I opened an account to help me network while I was looking for a job. I was in IT at the time and found it utterly useless. Lots of Sales jobs and Management jobs, but nothing whatsoever that I was interested in.
