With all the comments to 'Break up the Amazon monopoly," progressives also will have their eyes on  the world's most richest and valuable corporation.  In general, the Left doesn't like the tech world, and shedding intel for ARM just looks like another nail in Apple's monopolistic approach. These people will not evaluate worldwide numbers, but just find a sympathetic judge to begin the process.   I can clearly remember what the outcome of the lawsuit was when Apple's iBooks versos Kindle went to trial. Had numbers didn't mean squat.  r Just a thought       (and I'm waiting for ARM to be in the next 27"iMac I buy!)

  • 'iPhone SE 2' with A13 will cost $399 says Ming-Chi Kuo

Had two SEs - - one for home, the other for business/fund raising. Not surprising, the SE used for business garners ten times the number of robocalls and sales pitches as did my SE home phone.

The home SE "went South," so I ended up with an 8 replacement.
The 8 will still fit in my trousers pocket, and do the things my SE used to do; however, I do miss the earphone socket

Just hope the new SE2 retains the Home button, and we'll not be saddled with that crazy face recognition stuff.

Just to repeat what I've said earlier:  I need an iPHONE, and not an iCamera. The Swiss Knife smartphone still can't replace my 27" iMac and 10.5 iPad Pro.

  • Mac shipments grow slightly, but Apple's PC market share shrinks [u]

I have a late 2015 iMac, with ample SSD storage and RAM - - but still running 10.13.6 with no desire to buy a new iMac, as it will arrive with  the latest macOS that destroys 32 bit apps.
I can't afford to lose the capability of the three 32 bit apps in my, present iMac.

Guess I'm just one of the million iMac users that "don't count," as we should have gotten rid of those pesky 32 bit apps.

  • 'iPhone SE 2' not dead, but won't be the same size as the original says Ming-Chi Kuo

There's another reason to go a smaller and simpler iPhone. The major carriers, like Verizon, are letting their wire lines atrophy, and many households have been forced to switch to wireless. Additionally, it's obvious that many home/condo owners are switching to wireless and ditching the POTS  for hand-held wireless phones.   (Have you watched the size of the phone books diminish?)

To maintain a needed communications capability, one should not to be forced into a " Swiss Army Knife" type of iPhone that really should be marketed as an "iCamera." What's needed is an iPhone that's primarily a phone, with other uses secondary.   The ability to communicate should be the principal design criteria, with the capability to synch with other devices.

  • High-end 2019 Apple iPhone lineup may shift to 'Pro' branding

Maybe I should call my little one-hand iPhone "SE Pro"

  • Elizabeth Warren confirms Apple is on her big tech breakup list

I'm old enough to remember what happened when the US Government broke up "Ma Bell."  (Bell Telephone)

We ended up with several independent telephone companies - - some good, some not so good. Over the years, these companies have morphed into different entities, and some have been absorbed by bigger and better rivals.  Just take a look at Verizon, AT&T and Sprint.

Was the government-forced breakup of Bell a good thing, or a not-so-good thing?  One clearly bad thing was the downturn  of Bell Labs as a pre eminent R&D laboratory.
