  • Apple green lights Epic Games Store in rapid reversal

The vast majority of Apple customers disagree with you.  People choose Apple because they want it to “just work” know that everything is vetted by Apple.  If people wanted other app stores they’d buy an Android.
Do they?  Apple customers don't want the ability to be able to download apps outside of the app store?  I don't think that is true.  I think the majority of the apple customers would prefer to be able to download apps from the apple app store as well as being able to download apps from outside the apple app store.  If they have a concern about the security of a specific app then they will try to download it from the apple app store if it is available, if it isn't they won't download it.
This is utter nonsense my friend. There is not a single application that I need or want that is not available on the AppStore. If you want to list obscure cases of software that you or few others personally use or wish to use, that is all well and good, but it’s called an iPhone for a reason. If I need to do anything serious I have a Mac, some may choose windows, but whatever. I mean there is only so much that can be done with the form factor. Moreover, Apple created the entire ecosystem and category that has made developers the world over and created an entirely new economy. This whole thing has been brought about by sheer jealousy and greed by the very same people that are now worth billions and have benefitted enormously from Apple’s hard work and smart business decisions, as well as useful idiots campaigning on their behalf.  The fact is that the silent majority of us have no wish of sideloading, jailbreaking or alternative stores - which I guarantee will not be any cheaper in the long run - this is simply another case of the vocal minority spoiling things for the rest of us. Again.

"Apple has told some press channels that, though they have approved our current EGS iOS App for notarization, they are still demanding Epic change the user interface in a future version. Epic is disputing this."

When asked for clarification about the statement, the spokesperson identified the request to change the user interface as the point of dispute.

    Talk about “malicious compliance”…..

  • Apple's Core Technology Fee at the center of EU's first DMA violation investigation

To me it seems obvious that the European Union’s fixation on Apple and its policies have little to nothing to do with competition, developer and consumer rights or any other such issue. It is simply about them wanting a large helping of Apple pie without needing to modify the tax system and all the resultant complications that may cause. They should be honest and transparent about this rather than looking increasingly foolish and dishonest for using the DMA as a pretext to claw in revenue.

  • Beeper's CEO wants to sue Apple for blocking its iMessage bridge hack

Quite simply, Apple can afford to offer iMessage as a free service to its customers due to the enormous profits from hardware sales and the large amount the average Apple user spends on subscription services including App Store etc.
Why on earth should they be forced to subsidise Android by hosting potentially millions of spoofed users on their servers?
Let’s say hypothetically Apple allowed beeper to run based on the standard 30% cut of profits going to Apple, something tells me that beeper would not be amenable to that arrangement. So why the hell should they get to piggy back on Apple’s success. As I’ve said before and as others point out there are myriad other messaging services for cross platform communication that do not degrade the security of iOS like beeper and their methods could.
Moreover, like another poster said, and I paraphrase - if you want to drive a Ferrari then buy one, or accept reality. I’m sure many people would like to live in Buckingham palace but they wouldn’t be stupid enough climb in through an open window and claim squatters rights.

  • Beeper Mini developers say fix is 'coming soon' for iMessage Android app

I really don’t understand the point of this nonsense. Anybody that I know and communicate with regularly that is unfortunate enough to use android (I jest…sort of) but we simply communicate through signal or rarely with WhatsApp. It’s not an issue. Personally I feel that this is more about people namely google wanting to get one over on apple and cause problems for them. It’s only since they started whining about RCS and the like that these services have begun to crop up. And frankly without Apples permission to use their service I hope it lands them in hot water.
