First details emerge about new batch of Intel processor security flaws [u]
Razy2016 said "the last day of the century. " It wasn't actually, that's a common mistake made by many. The last day of the 20th Century was December 31st 2000 (the end of the 2000th year)and the first day of the 21st century was 1st January 2001 - note the 1 in the year. There was no year 0 in any calendar so all centuries and millennia start on the first day of year xxx1. Y2k was toted as a bug because some equipment had not been programmed properly to last into the year 2000, the clocks ended in 1999. Hence all the hype that turned out to be minor at worst. I was working in an EDA software house and we checked all our software and systems. Some needed a few simple changes to cope with the year change.
