  • macOS 26 Tahoe Phone app greatly improves taking calls on your Mac

The author of this article is sorely mistaken.  The ability to make (and receive) phone calls on your Mac using your iPhone (yes real phone calls, not FaceTime calls) has been around for more than a decade!!  It launched back in 2014 with OS X Yosemite and iOS 8.  That feature has been around so long that they didn't even call it macOS back then.

  • M4 Mac Studio, M5 MacBook Pro form part of Apple's 2025 Mac launches

Would be pleased if a M4 Ultra Mac Studio had options for 512 GB of memory and USB-C v5 but still include a couple of USB-A connectors. Still have equipment that has current software compatibility but have the old USB-A connectors.
Just get new cables with C or use affordable USB A to C adapters. Why should Apple’s highest end machines be bogged down with ancient ports at the expense of faster ones, when adapters are available for the niche users and the holdouts?

  • MacBook Pro line could get a major redesign in 2026 for 20th anniversary

"In 2022, Apple revised the design very slightly to remove the touchbar in favor of returning the function key row to the 13-inch model, with both models now sporting the M2 processor. The hardware design was otherwise unchanged from the 2021 M1 model."

I'm sorry, but this appears to be some sort of fever dream or fabrication on the part of the author.  There was never an M-series 13" MacBook Pro model released without the Touch Bar.  There was an intel era one, but that far predated the Apple Silicon transition.  The 2022 M2 revamp of the 13" MBP had the Touch Bar, just like all the rest before it (other than them adding the escape key back around 2019 or so, when they ditched the butterfly keyboard).

  • The Mac mini doesn't sell in huge volumes, but is a crucial part of Apple's ecosystem

Does AI not realize how useless and flawed the data from CIRP is?  They are essentially two friends with a blog, who only survey 500 people to get their "data".  You don't need to be a statistics major to know that that sample size is far too small to be salient, even if they did sample it properly (which they don't).

Their data is completely worthless, and shame on publications that report on their junk "data" without doing any due diligence.

  • iPhone 15 Pro Max review six months later: Still an exciting upgrade

I’d love to hear about what you think of the LIDAR feature of the camera on the Pro and Pro Max models. Useful? and if so, for what?
The LIDAR scanner has many niche uses, but one that is pretty universal is that it allows the rear cameras to focus much quicker, even in extremely low light.

It’s also very useful for AR applications and photogrammetry. For example, a real estate agent can use the PolyCam app to capture and create a 3D interior model or a dwelling, or someone into 3D printing can use it to capture an object to then adjust and 3D print.
