  • Apple's Eddy Cue says Google is default search engine because it is the best option

"Best" should not be read as meaning merely "technically superior" - there are multiple reasons why Google's search was chosen, and pay to play is only one of them. Google has massive mindshare when it comes to search, meaning users see a familiar interface the first time they use iOS; while not as important today as, say, ten years ago, this is still a significant benefit for users (with a side benefit to Apple). Firewalls that work by whitelisting IP addresses are never going to block Google (not necessarily an issue for consumers, but in enterprise environments it's a possible stumbling block). I can't think of any more examples off the top of my head, but that doesn't mean there aren't several more that make good business sense for Apple, Google and iOS users.

As long as the greenbacks benefits outweigh the drawbacks, Apple will feel satisfied with the current arrangement.

  • Apple wants to use magnets to help cool overheating devices

So, basically, a really tiny refrigerator. The key is the pumping mechanism, which to date has been a mechanical device moving the coolant around the system.

I suppose if it can run very efficiently and with minimal vibration and noise that's novel enough to qualify for a patent.

  • Google continues to awkwardly push for iPhone RCS integration in new 'Meet iPager' video

Anyone else remember when pagers where the hot new tech, and then SMS came out and was obviously better? And then BlackBerry messaging came out and was better than SMS (for some users)? And then Apple came out with something better still?

People switch to what's better. RCS has not been accepted by all the carriers, relies on every hop in the network chain to support encryption (which is optional under the standard) and doesn't handle group chat well. It's not better, it's not improving, and Google is going to drop it as soon as they decide to build another messaging app.

If RCS had any merit at all, Microsoft would be pushing it too... and they're not. Not because they no longer make a phone OS, but because they don't see it as a credible threat to Apple.

whatever the chosen method.... Apple should introduce a cross platform messenger
It has one. It works fine. Emoji’s text content, photos, video…

There is literally nothing wrong with the current implementation.

Google just wants everyone to use their standard instead of Apple’s better standard.

If someone wants iMessage so badly, they can buy an iPhone and get an upgrad on everything else too. Win-win.

Oh…wait… they ARE doing that. No wonder Google is resorting to this crap.
Apple does not have a “standard”. That implies cross platform compatibility. iMessage only works on i devices
Not just "i devices" - the Mac too.

Discover a trick to save money... IT staff hates Apple for this!

I don't think that IT hates Apple.  Is just that companies like MS have an ecosystem for business / enterprises that companies like Apple don't offer.
Were you not around for the OS wars of the 1990s?
