Patrick Wardle teams up with ex-Apple researcher to boost Mac security for all

Wardle’s tools are interesting in the way that they detect various types of malware but they currently require too much user involvement which can make them false-positive fire hoses. If AI could be used to filter that torrent to those alerts I really need to examine more closely, that would be a big win.
Not sure I understand your point about the Objective See apps. I have a number of them and they work well. -

How to create a PDF from images & web pages in macOS Sonoma
You could always select the items in the Finder to be combined into a PDF, right-click on the selection and choose Quick Actions > Create PDF. The originals are left in place and a new PDF is created instantly in the same folder. The order of the pages in the resulting PDF is that of the selection order and the name is usually that of the first item.
Preview could then be used to check or rearrange the pages if necessary. I just view the PDF using the Spacebar to check it's OK. -

Apple still dominates tablet sales in contracting market
Glad that they are doing well with the iPad. My 12.9” M1 iPad Pro is a fabulous machine and I am doing a lot of work with it that would have previously been done with the Mac and enjoying it more. There is still much to do in iPadOS but Stage Manager is a hit for me and I hope to see feature parity across Mac and iPad SW offerings (from Apple at least) in the future.
