Review: 27-Inch iMac 5K with i5 processor - 2012 on the outside, 2019 on the inside
frank777 said:Agreed on the port situation. Apple should have found the "courage" to go all USB3/Thunderbolt.
If a future rev can go all USB-C, add SSD standard and a T2 chip, it would be pretty much perfection. -

New 'professional' Mac mini, low-cost MacBook refresh coming soon says report
Pylons said:Oh please please Apple, give us a Pro-focused Mac mini with standard user-replaceable m.2 SSD and SO-DIMM DDR4. Having integrated non-upgradable SSD and RAM is ridiculous in anything but the thinnest ultrabook form factor.Ryzen CPU + Vega GPU would be great, or the Intel i7-8809G (Vega graphics).Or perhaps an Apple take on the Shuttle XPC slim DH310?But since Apple hasn't showed any care at all for users wanting a machine without screen since 2014 I'm not holding my breath. =(The fastest Mac mini is still the 2012 model (quad core, while the 2014 model is dual core only as you all know). -

Here we go again. First you complain about it being too old, too low-spec’d...now with new hardware you’ll complain that it’s too expensive. Classic.- something the size of a deck of cards, but thinner.
- made out a new alloy of "unobtanium" with a revolutionary new shade of anodizing so that it can not possibly be confused with the prior models
- the insides will be glued like a bug in amber for 10 yr. reliability but making it totally non-upgradeable and unrepairable (except by Apple, of course) in case it does break
- 1 USB-C port only, in the rear, discreetly unlabeled.
- Price $1999 for the bare bones Pro model, because we can, and to protect our margins. Useful RAM or storage prices are "pricey" as expected. Cough up now as you won't be able to upgrade or expand later.

- Up-to-date appropriate CPU
- Space for both a SSD and a backup HD, easily user replaceable/up-gradable
- Expandable memory by user
- More than 1 USB/Thunderbolt 3 port
- plus 1 USB 3.0 type A on front for charging/syncing/transferring without having to reach around to the back or buy a hub
- Compact, but not small & thin just to be small & thin, It's a desktop computer !
Just a user up-gradable, stylish, basic computer that runs Mac OS. Can't a Trillion $ company sell just one model like this?
