House Judiciary advances all bills in sweeping antitrust legislative package
There is absolutely no way Apple is going to skate past the myriad of anti-trust investigations and changes in law around the world with regards to their App Store. They better have a plan-B (i.e. more than saying security this, privacy that) or they will be caught completely flat-footed.
Personally I will stick with the App Store, but the trending on this is not favorable to Apple and they better realize this. -
Apple unveils plans to ditch Intel chips in Macs for 'Apple Silicon'
I skimmed the posts here but didn’t see anything here, but Microsoft already has a ARM port of Windows, and perhaps in addition to the Surface Pro there might be other Windows machines that start showing up with arm processors rather than x86.
I wouldn’t be surprised if some Windows PC manufacturers start moving in the same direction that Apple is going. Maybe with Snapdragon processors rather than their own in-house version but still probably a move we might see in the Windows world too, following Apple’s lead. -
Apple open-sources HomeKit Accessory Development Kit to spur adoption, grow new standard
I love my HomeKit enabled home with multiple devices which work pretty well. I do think this will be a good thing for future devices that aren't yet available now and agree that looking into another wireless connectivity protocol would be good (aside from Bluetooth and Wi-Fi). A lot of mine connect via Wi-Fi and I'm sure I will rue the day it has to be changed over to a new router. -

How Apple survived the flawgic-filled 2010s, butterflies and all
I think Apple has acted with a lot of determination and consistency as far as the Mac lineup as of late. A few years ago, I had some frustration with the Mac lineup and was holding off getting an iMac until discreet graphics came back (they did so a generation before last and I got a new one). Of course they also introduced the pro iMac and more recently the new Mac Pro and beefed up laptops...things are on the right track IMO.
