  • Apple's MagSafe wallet review: finally solves the unified iPhone and wallet issue

As a vegetarian - which is not a rare thing in this world - my issue is the leather. I can understand the issue with silicon being grippy but I'd buy a knock off faux leather one even if it had a limited life span. I still like the wallets which cover the screen as my experience is that my screen stays mark free and it survives face first drops. They fold back behind the phone so I'm not sure about why that would make one feel silly using it.
No one is forcing you to buy it.

My comment didn't pertain to my choice of buying it but to the manufacturing of a similar item made of another material and I drew on the author's comment about silicon being problematic and I expressed puzzlement about his problems with book style wallets. I then gave an opinion about my preference .My comment was not a complaint and I hope anyone from apple would not see it as one. I'm sure if they want to sell items like these in certain markets they will be thinking about materials.

I recognize your concern and believe it is valid.   For myself, I rationalize the use of leather by telling myself that the poor cow wasn't murdered to get it's skin but for it's meat to feed the carnivores who mistakenly believe they need meat to be healthy and strong.
Your superiority complex is impressive. What must it be like on your pedestal looking down at we dumbass, Neanderthal  carnivores.

I find this comment offensive and unwarranted.

  • Leak suggests Apple may replace Midnight Green with Navy Blue in iPhone 12

I'd be interested in a poll or survey or something about the visibility of phones after they are bought. Looking around the office and at commuters, all of them have an opaque case of some sort and I either can't tell what colour their phone is or it peaks out at one or both ends of the case (like my rose gold SE does).

If I had a choice of colours, I'd choose one I like (I like the green) - if that is what other people do then the stats on colour choice is just about colour preference and not about being swayed to buy a phone based on colour.

  • Apple sued over spellcheck functions on Mac, iPhone & iPad

I don’t know about the strength of the case, but Apple’s “spellcheck” is crap.
I’m an excellent speller, but I’m not here to brag: I want to pass on a tip to help you avoid “bad” spellcheckers and save a lot of time.

Make a list of the words you routinely misspell. For me, one of them was “obsolescence.” Once you see the correct spelling, strike through the word on your list and put in the correct spelling. Practice writing it a few times — for me, the key was remembering that the middle part was SOLE like the bottom of a shoe (or the fish). This will train your brain towards the correct spelling.

    Hope that helps!
I don't deny that is good advice but it doesn't help with typos.

I am also a good speller but not such a good copy editor of typos. Fortunately, spell checkers excel at typo checking as it is more about probabilities based on keyboard position and word patterns rather than guessing how a human mind might guess at the spelling of an unfamiliar word.
