  • Europe asks if Digital Markets Act should apply to iMessage

I've been told that nobody uses iMessage outside of the US and Japan. WeChat dominates in China, and WhatsApp dominates everywhere else.

Someone "told you" then telling the world is sure way better than checking first before posting. There are a whole bunch of other countries, including where I am in Australia, that use it extensively.

  • Should you buy an iPhone 13 mini now or wait for the 2022 iPhone SE?

Surely this article only needed one sentence to answer the question posed in the headline?

    Q:

Should you buy an iPhone 13 mini now or wait for the 2022 iPhone SE?

    A. Wait a week and then you can compare them before deciding.

According to iFixit’s recent teardown of the AirTag, the battery lid is quite difficult to remove. They state that even with clean, dry fingers it’s hard to get enough friction to turn and release it.
And according to iFixit, the Tile and Samsung(?) trackers are very easy to open up. What about all those hearing aid button batteries lying around? Why is it always Apple that governments, especially Australia, going after? It's just the money and control.

What a peculiar thing to write. Consumer bodies, governments of different levels etc "go after"  every company that they consider is selling a product with safety issues. I guess if you only read Apple news sites you'd think what you think. Do you live in Australia?

  • Apple's MagSafe wallet review: finally solves the unified iPhone and wallet issue

As a vegetarian - which is not a rare thing in this world - my issue is the leather. I can understand the issue with silicon being grippy but I'd buy a knock off faux leather one even if it had a limited life span. I still like the wallets which cover the screen as my experience is that my screen stays mark free and it survives face first drops. They fold back behind the phone so I'm not sure about why that would make one feel silly using it.
