I will order a silver M3 iMac (24GB Ram and 2TB SSD with trackpad and keyboard with numeric keypad) in the spring. It will be used in our office/shed during the summers at our Airstream only RV park and have a printer attached. Out WiFi net work will then allow our laptops and other iDevices to access the shared printer from our Airstream trailer close by. The is the best size for our limited work space fold up desk that will also have an HP LaserJet printer on it. I can use my M1 14" MacBook Air as a second display if needed.

It is small enough to take back to the Valley for the winter months and store it for the next season.

Apple immediately gets the sale proceeds and GS (or whoever the bank might be) gets stuck with trying to get their money back from the customer who, also now has the product.

Perhaps there needs to be a clause that "title" to the goods vest after the goods are paid for, just like in a car loan. One gets the car title when the loan is repaid. If not repaid, perhaps the serial number goes onto a Do NOT Service list sent to all Apple service centers.

I do not know if GS had any input to the criteria of the new customers to set some minimum levels of financial worthiness. The loss ratios are worrisome.

This Christmas "surprise" was talked about a month or so back.

My wife and I have both used Apple Watches since version 3. I consider mine as important as my iPhone. The Apple watch is completely tied into the Apple eco-system.

I upgraded my Ultra to Ultra 2 and my wife's v7 to v9 aluminum.

We are totally uninterested in any other digital brands.

We both still have our Rolex and Movado watches to fall back to. I still have my 1966 Rolex Oyster Perpetual (Pepsi Cola version) that cost about $375 then and worth over $3,500 now and capable of showing both the date and two time zones. 

I think the bad debt experience at GS is only a result of their poor selection process to allow new customers. Their lust after the exhorbiant interest rates on credit card debt blinded them to the fact that those high interest rates are because of defaults. Since they accepted marginally qualified customers, then there should be no surprise at their losses. Greed does often have dire consequences. 

Wonder if the price will be close to the prior generation like last time?

I may be tempted this time and take my M1 Ultra Mac Studio (128GB & 8TB SSD) and use it as my file server to replace the aging and soon to be unsupported Intel i7 powered Mac mini (64GB OWC Ram and 2 TB soldered SSD). The M1 Mac Studio trade in value is less than a possible M3 Pro mini with maximum memory and a 2 TB SD. and probably will be supported for quite a few more years.

I remember in the 70s that a 32kb memory card from Digital Equipment Corp (DEC) for my PDP-11 cost $2,000. Every generation that followed in the same form factor doubled the amount of memory for the same $2,000. The last one was 4MB. I used 1.5MB for programs and 2.5MB as a virtual swap disc for compiling Dibol code which was blazingly faster than any of the spinning platters of the day.
