Brydge ProDock review: A vertical Thunderbolt 4 docking station for modern Macs
Got the predecessor stand for my 2019 16" Intel Mac Book Pro. That was the best I could initially do to free up some desk space. So I now have received this new unit that supports both the 2021 14" and 16" MacBook Pros along with a M processor Series MacBook Air. I have an 2020 M1 MBAir and the USB-C Ports are in the same location as on then M2 version. I don't what will work but a single monitor comes to mind unless it has the M2 chip. -
Apple scales back plans for 'Extreme' Apple Silicon Mac Pro
If the family car dies, the owner does not have the luxury of waiting for the next model, he/she buys what is available on the deanship lot.
My 2013 MacPro was upgraded over time to 128GB of OWC Ram and a 2TB SSD from OWC as these became available There were also two Thuderboltv 27" displays on the wall. First one display died after nine plus years and there were upgrade issues for the MacPro requiring the OEM 1TB SSD be reinstalled so Apple could lock the firmware so no more upgrades could happen.
I ordered my Mac Studio with the 64 core GPU, 128GB shared memory and 8TB SSD along with two Apple Studio displays with VESA mounts that were to reuse the existing wall mounts. The $10,000 system was here and operational in September. I have no regrets as it does everything I want and will last me for many years (age 77).
I delayed ordering the system until the initial bugs were cured in the Studio Displays. There were no issues in upgrading the display MacOS software when they arrived. The Mac Studio arrived earlier than projected as production speeded up in China.
Now there are "spares" in the Apple system so I am no longer unsupported if there were a mechanical issue in the Mac Studio. The Studio sits on my desk below a Studio Display. There is no sound coming out of that enclosure and it barely gets above room temperature to the touch.
This is the best Apple computer system I have owned since 1990.
YMMV -

We know the M2 in the MBAir can support 24GB of ram. So for the next generation of M2 MBPros we could expect the current 64GB ram limit could increase to 96GB and the M2 Mac Studio could perhaps go from 128 to 196GB of ram.
I wonder if the M series MacPro might make the 196GB proposed as a guess the cache for memory cards in slots. The speed could be decremented going off the chip to a bus but there could be a memory bus and an I/O devices bus.
I am not an EE person, but wonder if there is a physical limitation to how big a single chip can be before speeds head south? I guess the speed of light is the barrier..... -
Ampere Apple Watch Charging Cable review: A better fast charger
We use the Apple combo portable chargers when traveling to charge our iPhones and iWatches. Everything is fully charged by morning.
We both also have the same model dual device chargers on our bed side night stands.
I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and an Ultra watch and my wife has my old iPhone 13 Pro Max and a S7 iWatch. -
