Some recent computer orders seem to be getting that percentage.

My order has changed to "preparing to ship" and my Apple Wallet shows there will be 6% cash back on both the extended warranty and the computer.

I wonder what the actual dimensions of the M1 Max chip are thinking about the square Mac mini form factor? The 14" laptop size is partially determined by the length of the keyboard with speakers on either side and a very usable trackpad below.

Intel's best efforts now are like a carburated V8 with a three speed manual transmission up against a fuel injected turbocharged V8 with a ten speed automatic.

That is because Intel has done, to put it politely, an extremely poor job of developing any new processors in a timely fashion. The reason Apple left was Intel could not (or would not) get new processors that actually were hardware rather than vaporware out the door. Apple wants to be in charge of firmware, hardware and software for a fully integrated system. That scenario is what makes their recent equipment work so well.
