Maybe it’s time to rethink the idea of patents. Seems they are causing more bad than good. Is there not any proposals out there for how change this system?

It is the legal responsibility of an American Corporation to increase profitability.  Apple has broken no US law by avoiding taxes when permitted.

It’s not a “legal responsibility”, but a “community responsibility”. Paying taxes should not be an option (as it is for big corporations). However, you will have backlashes. One being Trump in the White House. Tim Cook claimed Apple did not use tax avoidance schemes - only to be proved wrong. Just Google it. Nobody likes a hypocrite.

Last I checked Apple was the highest tax payer in the country. I'm sure that's more than your entire family combined. "Greedy" Apple.

Apple is not unique in this setup, but its no excuse to not pay its tax (that most small/medium businesses do). It’s been using Ireland as a tax haven and refused to bring the cash back the US (as it does not want to pay tax).
