Loving the StandBy Mode feature on iPhone.
For me it's a huge disappointment on my always on iPhone 14 Pro screen. It turns off after 10 or 20 seconds. Then I have to wave my arms about or tap the table to see the time. I have tried Settings -> Standby -> Display, Always On = off or on to no effect.

It's useless as a bedroom clock to check the time during the night.
Agreed - this was a big disappointment for me, too. I’m not sure if it’s intentional or a bug but as you said, it makes it useless as a bedside clock which is the only application I have for it.
Sadly, I guess it's intentional as they did the same with the always on post Series 5 Apple Watch Bedside Mode. The switch in General is labeled as use as a bedside clock, yet it too turns off unless it feels vibration. Seems crazy. "It just doesn't work"

It would be nice if the phone app would just disappear after being on a call.  This would help stop butt disling.  Why doesn’t anybody on the ios team understand this?
Maybe I'm missing something, but can't you just put the phone app in the background (and/or lock the phone) during the call?

  • Apple rolls out watchOS 10 for Apple Watch with new faces, health features

    Side swipe now does nothing.
So why not keep that to allow fast swapping of faces?

  • Apple ships tvOS 17 with FaceTime and Apple Fitness Plus changes

Apple TV now includes a new feature called Reactions. These are video effects that can be activated through hand gestures. Although Apple hasn't disclosed a complete list of supported gestures, we triggered a thumbs-up bubble by simply giving a solo thumbs-up. Additionally, two thumbs up led to full-screen fireworks appearing behind us.

    • Heart - Heart emoji
    • Thumbs up - Thumbs up emoji
    • Two thumbs up - Fireworks
    • Single thumbs down - Thumbs down emoji
    • Two thumbs down - Cloud
    • Peace sign with one hand - Balloons
    • Peace sign with two hands - Confetti
    • "Rock on" sign with two hands - Laser

I have two issues that I’m experiencing with my new iOS 17 install (on an iPhone 12 Pro Max). Curious if anyone else has run across these issues and found a fix?

    1. Apple Maps isn’t letting rotate and zoom in when I’m navigating to a location. Actually, to be more precise, sometimes it’s letting me and sometimes it isn’t. This is particularly frustrating when I’m getting to head out and am trying to reorient the map so that I can figure out which street it’s asking me to go down.

    2. There should be a new People, Pets, & Places smart album option where you can tag your pets on the Photos app. I’m still seeing the old People & Places album. When I scroll down to the bottom of this album the Add People button is greyed out with a message saying “Lock your phone and connect it to power to complete”. Locking my phone and connecting it to power doesn’t seem to do anything.
#2 is easy. Do as it says and wait. Then wait some more.  #1 dunno 😉
