  • Warren Buffett calls Tim Cook a 'fantastic manager' of Apple

Interesting word ”Manager”. Seems implied Tim is only a excellent caretaker rather than head of the company.

I personally think Tim is doing an excellent job. One can only create so many new things that a person can carry. Creation for creation sake is pointless, unless it is useful for the user.
Like Steve Jobs often said people need to be shown what they want. He said if you asked people in the early 20th century what they wanted for transportation they would have replies ‘a better buggy whip’. It was Henry Ford that showed them what they really needed.
“If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.”
That quote allegedly originated with Henry Ford about the automobile. While usually attributed to him having said that there's never been conclusive proof that he actually said it.

Jobs, though, did say “It’s really hard to design products by focus groups. A lot of times, people don’t know what they want until you show it to them.”

  • 'iPhone 13 Pro' has new colors & stainless steel coating, claims leaker

The whole reason I didn't adopt the 12 Mini was because the battery life was atrocious compared to my 11 Pro and I have no use for 5G yet where I live. I'm still not sure why they adopted power hungry 5G modems in the non-pro line before necessary. There was nothing special about the 12 Pro other than a color, construction material, and the larger battery allowed more head room for 5G.

  • Future Apple Watch could have joystick-like Digital Crown

I'm not sure what all the annoyance with the AW crown is. I figured everyone had flipped the orientation already. iMore (among many others) posted about this a long while back. A good video for those who haven't yet.

  • X-ray shows how the iPhone 11 Smart Battery Case camera button works

Yeah for whatever reason I also rotate the other way, volume on bottom, so hadn’t run into that.

Like life, product design is full of compromise. We’ll be okay tho.

The problem is that Apple designed the phone for 90% of the population.

Which is kinda strange. I mean, they have laptops with different keyboards (QWERTZ, AZERTY, Shift-lock, et cetera), make a special version of the iPhone for Hongkong and other 'locals', don't get me started on iPad sizes...the list goes on. But in spite of all those different models they don't make products for left-handed people. Kinda strange.

So they put a new keyboard in and have keyboard mappings set to the region it uses, have a dual sim board (that covers a huge portion of their customer base), and the iPad is one of the best selling product lines which is also not "left-handed"; I guess the point is none of those are comparable to a left-handed iPhone. There are a lot of things in this world not made for lefties, like writing on anything for example. I could never imagine a time when retooling an entire device for a marginal amount of the user base that might actually buy one.

I get what you're saying, but the only thing that might be plausible is a rocker switch on each side that's programmable. Although shrinking the screen a bit like is rumored for 2020 and moving the lock button to the top again seems like the easiest solution.
