Microsoft makes Outlook for Mac free
edr said:Could it be because users don’t want a crappy cross platform web app. Next: paying users to use it.JamesCude said:Um yeah free is still too much. If you measure lost time and frustration from bloatware, you realize quickly how expensive MSOFT products are at any price. 1 gig for a mail app ought to give you an idea of just how bloated and full of spyware and other cruft it is...
Y'all can just stick with your free Hotmail, Yahoo and AOL accounts, OK? Be happy.
Since I support clients that use both, there are still many differences between Mac and Windows version, but MS is slowing closing that gap.
The article incorrectly infers Outlook for Mac only works with IMAP accounts, which isn't true since it works with Exchange/365 accounts. -

Apple's Studio Display doesn't shine in the light of competition
Annoying Mac thing #23 -- Why do only 5K monitors work with Macs? I mean, literally any 1080p, 2K, 3.5K, 4K or more works and looks great with Windows (using scaling).
1080p on a Mac looks terrible. Everything is too big, fonts are jagged and unsharp. Why can't one scale on macOS?
Is there some physical barrier that Apple cannot overcome, or do they just want to sell you an uber-expensive monitor to makes tons of profit? -
Intel just took the worst beating in earnings in over a decade
The article doesn't really explain WHY Intel sales were so bad. Especially during the holiday season. Is new gear too expensive for consumers? Are people keeping their computers longer? Or are consumers moving towards more mobile devices?
It doesn't help Intel that major sellers like Dell have raised their prices making one take a second thought about buying or upgrading. -
Apple's Music & TV apps hit Windows - but only Windows 11
Windows 11 would be great if it wasn't so annoying difficult to do the most basic tasks. Cut/Copy/Move/Paste/Delete or any other right-click activities on files is annoying with icons and the need to choose "More Options" to get to the things you used to get at with one right-click.
That's just ONE thing that annoys me about Windows 11. Things like the old "Devices and Printers" control panel are buried deep into the lame Settings screen.
The list goes on and on. I can do without Apple Music app,, but thanks anyways MS.
No wonder 68% of Windows users are still on Windows 10.
