Apple's ad agency recommends a stop to Twitter campaigns

Trump vs. Harris: How to watch the September 10 Presidential debate online
Cesar Battistini Maziero said:A debate at this point is unnecessary, Harris destroyed the cost of living in 4 years, we don't need another 4 years of that.Trump was better at literally every marker that impacts the majority of the USA population.MAGA.
Trump is a felon. He instigated a coup. He lies so much he can't tell the truth anymore. He's nastier than a middle-schooler. Those markers are important to me. Of course, if you did what Trump said and ingested bleach during COVID, you're unfortunately not around to vote for him again. Oh, and his partial wall has lots of holes and WE paid for it. -

Chrome is still a memory hog on macOS compared to Safari
This article is being questioned by others saying the person who tested did not count the "Safari renderer" processes (which are rather large memory consumers) when counting Safari usage.
I, personally, set Safari and Chrome to open the same 5 tabs at start, and if you count ALL the Safari processes, it's actually MORE than Chrome.
This article is just untrue. -

Certain elements in the Legislature and right wing media are sure to make hay out of it. But if you ask me, good business ties with China are super important, even in the face of recent geopolitical events. China will to be less inclined to damage their best customer.
— gave them Ukraine’s nukes
— gave them the USSR spot on the security council
— shut down our own rocket engine manufacturing and made our rockets dependent on their engines
— made them key partners in the ISS
— let them genocide Chechnya
— let them conquer Georgia and Moldova and Crimea
— gave them Big Macs and iPhones
Of course not. Dictators can’t stop themselves from attacking us. We need to be ready. Apple is making us dependent rather than ready.
The US is very young compared to Asian countries, particularly China. Unfortunately, because they are the current "world leader", that has gone to their heads, and no other country can be as great. That's the illusion right there. World powers come and go, and have for eons. The US will lose their dominance eventually. And we can only hope that the next world power will be democratic. and more mature and advanced than the current US leadership and population.Banning books? You mean the books with pornographic content in the libraries of schoolchildren? And you think that’s bad? Parents across the country are confronting school boards over this. It’s everywhere. That’s not making books illegal. It’s getting them out of inappropriate places where impressionable kids can get into it and back to where adults can choose to read it or not.Wow.A stove or air conditioner can’t corrupt a child. Adult content can. It doesn’t belong in public schools. And the air conditioner thing was reported on today. Coming from the executive branch. Federally. Not a small segment. And that’s more attention than our military strength and growth is getting and more than our economy is getting. That’s not rhetoric. It’s the way it is. -
Apple TV+ has 'no excuse' for lagging growth, says Netflix co-founder
I don't see how AppleTV+ can even compare to Netflix or Disney+. Netflix is like the Blockbuster of streaming with content from literally everywhere, and Disney has decades of movies from all of their studios. What does Apple TV+ have? A handful of movies/shows that it has purchased for tons of money? Apple would need to partner with major studios to have access to their content to compete with Netflix or Disney.
As it is, Apple like your local theatre. It has a new movie every now and then, maybe you like it, maybe you don't. Except you're paying every month whether you like the offering of the month or not. -
Supreme Court argument casts doubt on Facebook, Twitter free speech rights
bluefire1 said:Justice Thomas should be commended for recognizing the inherent danger of having put so much power in the hands of a few private entities. Back in the day, politicians never imagined that these private corporations, instead of being platforms for public opinion, became publishers, censoring whatever they decide is inappropriate, misinformation, or offensive. It is past time for Congress to either revisit Section 230 or have SCOTUS to do it for them. -

'Max' streaming service combines HBO Max & Discovery+, launches May 23
StrangeDays said:$20 a month for 4K? Yeah F you too, dudes.
I read their NYT article explaining their rational in dropping “HBO” from the brand name and adding tons of crappy reality TV:
https://www.nytimes.com/2023/04/11/business/media/max-streaming-warner-hbo.html
…they feel their audience is too limited due to be associated with high-quality programming. Insane. It’s like BMW saying they’d sell more cars if they made cheaper, crummier vehicles and then advertising that they not all about premium vehicles. Well, yeah. But that isn’t why your customers sought you out. That isn’t your brand.

A new bill will try to stop big tech from preferring its own services over rivals
Bosa said:How dumb is the Biden us government? They bombed 7 kids getting water and lied to us and said they were ISIS
and now they want to fix something that doesn’t need fixing and people like Google and Apple who are 10000 times smarter than these idiot politicians?
so are they going to ask Target to stop advertising their stores and have people buy at Walmart?
