  • Apple's 'Fortnite' takedown will cause incalculable harm to users, says Epic

I carefully read the article for a change.

    I gathered,
Epic wants to bypass Apple fees 100% but want to set up a shop on Apple products and reap 100% profit.
Epic is complaining that Apple has a monopoly on Apple products.

It may be an Apple product, but it's not owned by Apple, it's owned by the user.  Epic should be free to "setup shop" on any device the owner of the device wants and Epic should not have to pay the manufacturer of the device a fee for the "privilege" of doing so.

Did you carefully read the article?  I think not.  It literally says "That power emboldened it to design restrictions to create and maintain monopolies in app distribution and in-app payment processing."  Monopoly of distribution and payment processing, NOT Apple products.   So, you gathered wrong.  Apple does have a 100% monopoly on distribution and payment processing.  No lies there.  Is it legal?  I think that is what this is about.

  • How to use an NVMe drive to upgrade your Mac's SSD

This article is great if you do indeed purchase a used MBA or MBP and don't care about what's on the SSD drive already.  Starting fresh with a new install of macOS is always a good idea in this case.

BUT, many people here have mentioned they want to do this to their existing MBA or MBP.  You probably want to keep your data!  For those people, the process of cloning their existing SSD to a new SSD is very easy.  You will need to purchase a NVMe-to-USB adapter like this.  Simply mount the new SSD on the adapter, fire up your MBA or MBP and grab a trial copy of Carbon Copy Cloner (CCC) and install it.  Plug in your NVMe adapter that has your new SSD on it and fire up Disk Utility and erase the new SSD using APFS format.  Then, fire up CCC and select your source and destination drives, and click "Clone".  When cloning is finished, simply shut down and install your new SSD with the instructions in the article.

When you turn it back on, it should boot on the new SSD.

There are on-line step-by-step videos (YT) for doing this in case my general instructions weren't clear.  But for an extra $22 for the adapter, the ability to keep your existing setup is priceless!

  • Apple to offset costly 5G iPhone components with cheaper battery tech

Who let the trolls out of the barn today?  I told you to keep that door properly latched!
Maybe this isn't the place for you.  I hear the Apple Community forums are censored and they remove any anti-Apple posts.  Sounds like a better fit for you.

  • Epic Games to hold 'FreeFortnite Cup' as part of anti-Apple campaign

Kill their dev account now. Why wait? These guys are horrible people who made too much money too fast.
LOL!  Did you miss the headline about Apple's market value worth $2 TRILLION?  "Too much money too fast"?  What does that even mean?  Is there a certain amount of money in a certain amount of time that businesses aren't supposed to surpass?

I will be going to Costco and Safeway tomorrow  and ask them to clear up shelf space for me to sell my home made lemonade for free. After, I will goto local steakhouse and ask them to give me a free steak because they are the biggest and most profitable steak house in town!

You can sell your lemonade anywhere you want.   You can make a website and sell it and distribute it directly.  You can sell it from your home.  You can sell it at a farmers market in your town.  Or you can check other stores to get a lower rate to sell your lemonade.  You have that freedom.

If your city had a law that said you cannot sell any goods in the town anywhere (not even online) except one city-run store, and that store demanded a 30% cut, wouldn't you think that is unfair?

The problem is, there is NO OTHER WAY to sell apps for i-devices than Apple's App Store as their own rules (and devices) restrict it.  Because of that, it does seem unfair to me that apps can't accept payment through other means than the App Store.  Maybe the app itself shouldn't be free so that Apple gets it's money, but once the app is sold, why should Apple continue to get revenue for everything purchased in the app?  Since you like analogies, how about you buy a car so that you can start making money doing Uber, Dashpass, etc.  But the car dealer demands a 30% cut of everything you make while you are driving the car they sold you?  Same thing.
Yeah, I wouldn't buy that car.  Good think there are other brands of cars and smartphones on the market.
But the other brands of cars are difficult to use, cheaply made and not reliable or safe.  You want the best car, right?
