Been using the Synology router and three mesh nodes with ethernet backhaul for around a year. Performance and reliability have been excellent, no issues  My old Airport gear was reliable but performance was no where near the Synology gear. Apparently they put out a bad OS release a couple years ago (before I purchased) and that has become the legacy story about the software. I typically have around 25 client devices connected and haven't ever seen any issues with dropped connections or performance. More expensive but so far has been worth the $$$.
