  • iPhone 15 Ultra gets intriguing Apple Watch Ultra makeover

So... this is funny once. But I hope this isn't the start of articles that showcase "impossible" rumors that are known BS. What I will say is that some speculative renders of the iPhone 15 design--though definitely NOT the iThicc phone in this article--look nicer than anything I've seen from Apple phones in quite a while.
We chose this one because of the attention it was getting. We're not going to browse Instagram for the hundreds of ugly renders that'll never happen and report on them. But if something starts getting spread around, we'll comment on it and use our rumor score to provide context.

  • 2024 Apple Watch Ultra will get 10% larger display, claims sketchy report

"The device is already incredibly large and unwieldy, depending on the user's wrist size."

I can't believe this nonsense is still being reported.
I mean. Read it again. Depends on wrist size. I didn't say that large watches weren't a thing, but there is an upper limit to usability for some. It is a lightweight watch and comfortable to wear, but the size can become unwieldy if you've got smaller wrists. Demand seems to be for a smaller Ultra, not a bigger one.

    FWIW, I'd wear a PIP-Boy-sized Apple Watch. 😂

Also, see my previous comment. The Apple Watch Ultra isn't 2.1 inches and can't accommodate a 10% larger display without a new case.

it's pretty obvious there's room for a screen size increase without making the case any larger. Not sure why the article wouldn't posit this.
We didn't mention it because it isn't feasible for the rumored size change. Sure, you could push the display out ever so slightly more, but that wouldn't lead to a 2.1-inch display.

It is difficult to determine without one in front of me, but specs say the current device is 1.93 inches diagonal with a 1.92 inch display. The bezels are likely included in that measurement, and the active display could reach further to the edge in a new model, sure.

But for the display to increase to 2.1-inches, bezels gone or not, you'd need a much larger device case. Thus, making this rumor highly unlikely for a second-generation product. We'll be lucky to see any external changes beyond new colors in the updated model, upgrades will be the display type moving to MicroLED and new processors and sensors.

  • You might be ready for side loading on iPhone, but your parents aren't

Gee what blatant ageism! I'm 69 and a great grandparent and I was jailbreaking iPhones till it wasn't needed as much as they added enough features to reduce need!
    Let it Rain!
I bet the average age of readers on this site is at least 45. The kids don’t read — they just watch videos. So when AI talks about “old people “, I bet the mean at least 80
I'll point out that we never said "old people" and only barely implied it with a grandparent reference and an image from Mythic Quest. A person can be a parent at quite a young age. The title could apply to a 13-year-old reading it and thinking of their tech-inept 30-year-old parent, just as easily as the 45-year-old with the 80-year-old parent.

Considering the age of some of our staff and our readers, I'd say that it would be irresponsible to be ageist. right? But I can see how the title might imply that, though unintended.

Hope that frames it somewhat anyway.

  • EcoFlow Delta 2 power station review: Power and ports aplenty

Also, a big point, given that it is being sold as a "power bank" type of product, what exactly is its capacity in Wh?
Hey, thanks for the catch. We had the capacity in this piece before in a dedicated specs section, but that section was removed because it provided redundant info. I didn't realize that I didn't mention the exact capacity again, so I've fixed that. I agree, that was a silly omission of an important detail.
