  • Trump's 'Liberation Day' tariffs hit every one of Apple's international manufacturing part...

"An old fashioned term that we use -- groceries. I used it on the campaign. It's such an old fashioned term, but a beautiful term. Groceries. It says a bag with different things in it."

  • Apple's satellite plans could be stalled by Elon Musk's Starlink

Of course after I say the thread has been mostly level headed, we get a sharp right turn. Believe what you like, but don't post such extremely biased misinformation that is also incredibly off topic. This isn't a political forum. If you like Trump and Musk, talk about it elsewhere. If you don't like them, talk about it elsewhere. It's one thing to make your opinion known as a part of a greater on topic post, but don't make your whole post about trying to prove your agenda is the right one and everyone else is wrong.

Especially in today's climate. Kind of hard to make a sound argument for what's happening in the United States today and this isn't the place for it.

And it isn't fake news just because you don't like it. That kind of ignorant bullshit is why people make fun of those kinds of comments. Sure, maybe you'd like to have the news substantiated by a statement (that won't likely be made) but that doesn't mean it isn't true, and it is a valid point to make. However, your valid point is lost when it is filled with ignorant rhetoric and buzzwords i.e. "Fake News."

Remember, you're more than welcome to *not* make a post on a thread you're particularly upset about. If you can't have a political discussion without using silly insults flung around by extremist news networks, don't post about political content. Simple.

Edit 1: Also, posts referring to this as "fake news" have been deleted. It is a banned term, and by suggesting the source is making it up, it in turn suggests our coverage of it is illegitimate.

Edit 2: Sorry AppleZulu, while your comment was a warranted response, it is to a post that has been deleted, so the thread is gone too.

  • ResMed Kontor Head Strap for Apple Vision Pro review: bring balance to spatial computing

No matter how you slice it, all these third party accessories that claim to help with the weight, don’t. I’ve tried so many of them and none work. It’s just too heavy and I keep buying them thinking that this new one will be the one to help. I can’t wear the AVP longer than 2 hours no matter which of these I’ve tried. Hopefully in a few years the weight will be dramatically reduced because it really is a great product.
I mean. You probably shouldn't be wearing it for more than 2 hours in one session. That goes for traditional computers or smartphones. Breaks are good. 10 minutes out of every hour helps increase productivity and focus.

It's got easier than ever to just take the thing off and step away. The window anchoring has been solid. Since I use the Solo Knit Band, it is really easy to remove and put on too.

  • tvOS 18.4 brings Matter support for vacuums, lossless audio, and more to Apple TV

    IsThisOn said:
If this means having to ‘upgrade’ all my existing Thread devices to Matter, nuh-uh.

I get the appeal of Matter - assuming a multi-platform environment - but the upgrade process whereby I must record each devices new ID or effectively lose the ability to ever bring that device back into my environment should I need to reset it -  aka effectively bricking it.

    Nope
Nah, doesn't require anything like that. This is an ecosystem upgrade in how Apple manages things and doesn't change anything on the surface.

  • Apple's satellite plans could be stalled by Elon Musk's Starlink

There was a point sometime far in the past that AI locked down feeds with unrestrained political speak that wasn’t actually related to the article at hand.  Sometimes I long for those days instead of all the Orange Man Bad / Elmo bashing; in this case Elmo has literally no control of anything, does he have the ear of the current administration, yes, can he make any decisions without being a Civil Servant, no.  But I guess this is the new normal for AI, I’ll keep reading the articles and watching the comments devolve into childish antics.
Other than someone calling Trump a mango and that stupid Elmo nickname, this has been quite a civilized thread. We do stop things when people get into a heated debate that has nothing to do with the conversation at hand. I've seen stories on Apple offering a new Apple Watch band devolve into a debate over whether Russia started the war in Ukraine. There are times when things get out of hand for sure, this is not one of them.

There's nothing in the rules that say the users can't call out blatant corruption. Musk's influence in the government is incredible and ignoring that doesn't make sense. No matter how partisan you are, you can't deny that reality.
