Trump Mobile's made-in-US iPhone 17 competitor is really made in China

He's not fit to run a boy scouts group, let alone a country.Of course he has everything to do with it. If he didn't, shouldn't we expect him to have already stepped up to a podium and declared that in order to protect the integrity of the Office of the President, that he must publicly insist that his sons cease and desist in this crass effort to profit from his presidency? Shouldn't he be saying, as President, he holds the public trust as sacrosanct, and he won't tolerate this or any future efforts to sully the presidency with tacky profiteering schemes? Of course he hasn't said any of that, because this was presented to him and endorsed by him before they went public with it. If he wasn't, he would have been blind-sided and publicly angry about it.Trump's silence on the matter is part of the problem, not the plausible deniability that you're trying to sell.Best to stick with facts over conjecture. If it comes out thst this was “45/57” pulling the strings, so be it. But from all available info so far, there appears to be distance there. That’s simple fact.Yes, it looks like a lame offering. From a lame phone to a service of unknown quality to poor graphic design/web design, and cringeworthy “marketing,” to the whole thing just being an MVNO with a couple third party services attached to your phone bill, it’s just not compelling. And it is a bit cringeworthy. Is it wrong for the Trump family organization to offer this? Is it wrong to have the marketing loosely but obviously connected to the fact that their dad Donald J Trump is the 45th and 47th president? (The 47 Plan / $47.45, etc) Is it wrong to include “Mske America Great Again” on the phone wallpaper? Doubtful. Is it cringe and unappealing? Sure. I dont disagree. Why would the president need to be vocal about something he doesn’t have anything to do with? He might think it’s cool his kids are doing their own thing here. And? It’s not like Trump has the best aesthetic taste in the world. Sprinkling gold on everything isn’t aesthetically appealing, nor is his choice of architecture, hairstyle, spray tan, etc. but I’m sure he’s happy his kids have taken some initiative and no doubt is ok with it. Doesn’t mean he’s behind it or is wrong somehow for not getting vocal or involved against it in some other way.I get that this forum is predominantly hostile toward the president to say the least. And folks such as myself are in the minority here, even having moderators suggest putting such views on “ignore.” And it’s not like the president is perfect. There are plenty of things to disagree on. But nitpicking every little thing snd even nitpicking stuff that just isn’t there is too much. It becomes like the boy who cried wolf. After a while, it just becomes noise. But this issue is simply the man’s family doing their own thing snd banking on their dads popularity. Trump himself has not been proven to be involved, nor is there any evidence of such that I’ve seen. And I’ve been looking. If that changes, so be it. But let’s stick with the facts for now.
We should all learn to reason this way. we'd all be much happier. He also isn't earning any money from crypto or bible sales and is personal friends with the Easter Bunny. All that and still no evidence. If it comes out that tje president is pulling the strings on this venture, then you will have some fodder. But it doesn’t appear to be the case at the moment. An initial? *gasp!* the same initial that the guys kids have? Egad. Each of the other ventures have their own nuance. And they can each be discussed as well. However, The subject of this thread is the new Trump Mobile service. And at least up to now, there is no evidence DJT is running this. Or even involved at all.
but in all seriousness, I'm not sure why this is a topic. Who cares. He's still running the trust that handles all of this and he benefits financially. His trademarked name being thrown on random stuff is just another grift. It's illegal, but that doesn't matter to the guy that wipes his ass with the constitution.
Can't wait to see this catastrophic failure of a device blow up in people's faces, literally. -

If you find yourself disagreeing with the same user over and over to the point arguments break out, might I recommend the ignore function.
1. Click the user's name in a post to access their profile.
2. Click the little person icon in the top right of the profile page.3. Click ignore.
4. Never see their posts again and have peace.
5. Manage ignored users or add more via your profile settings. -
Apple's continued lack of native apps on Vision Pro isn't a good sign for the platform
OriginalAppleGuy said:WHAT is this guy smoking? None of those apps have a spacial appeal other than being able to use them around you. For the record, the clock is included as a widget in 26.Seriously, would love to understand where people who think the apps listed could be spacial? Do you want 3D letters to come out at you? Do you want the clock to float around the room aimlessly?
Some apps are should be 2D. Being able to use them floating in air is the AVP promise. The world as your monitor is king!
Also, I acknowledged that the Clock widget is a step towards a kind of native experience, but the Clock app itself is still flat and awkward. Why not build an interactive 3D globe object that displays the time when you click on a region? How about a timer or stopwatch window that can be pinned somewhere? Not possible today.
Home could let me place spatial objects on real world lights and fixtures to control them. Calendar could have a native UI with modal windows and sidebars. Shortcuts could have a new 3D editor that lets me grab and move blocks around an automation mind map web. Podcasts should have a native player with a minimized view like Apple Music.A native visionOS app doesn't imply 3D effects, it implies that the UI scales and is optimized for the platform. Apple not providing that to its core apps after 3 years is incredible neglect. -

Please don't comment on moderation practices. Send an email or direct message to the staff if you've got a comment on moderation practices. Don't waste your time, I'll just delete the comment that violates the rules.
No, it isn't bias. We leave plenty of conservative and liberal posts up that are generalized in nature. Attacking a Senator, President, etc with insults and comments that can't be attributed to the topic will be evaluated and taken down if it crosses a line or doesn't belong in a thread.
However, if a post is about the President creating a grift, lying about whether or not it is made in the US, and people want to point out the grift in the comments, that's fair game.If you can't tell the difference, just don't comment on political posts. And for those that don't like an individual's post history, just hit the ignore button and let them yell into the void.
Edit: If you don't want to talk to me (fair enough) reach out to Mike. -

This isn't even what I'd call an attack, more an observation. Anyone that would believe this device is made in the USA is a fool, even more so the ones willing to pay money for it. The current President is the king of grift, selling a Bible and bitcoin even though it's illegal for him to do so.
If this statement is an attack, I'd hate to see what would happen if someone pulled out a real insult. This is too soft a swing for us to address, but I'll flag it and let the other mods decide since you believe I can't judge it myself.Next time, just flag the comment. Don't make meta comments about comments and moderation. It's against the rules. I don't know why we have to keep reminding someone of the very basic rules that posts here so regularly.
