Cook was probably so preoccupied with this logo issue and the 20 macs that went to SK instead of Japan that he probably decided to skip the meeting with Elon Musk that could have gotten Tesla for Apple! He is so focused on the irrelevant these days that he missed the chance to make revolutionary changes. As a shareholder I love Cook. As an Apple fan he is a major disappointment. Iterative update after iterative update ... ORCL, IBM, XOM, MSFT, APPL ... except for the laughably overpriced new headphone. Do they really think that anyone but the dumbest fanboys or people with too much money are going to buy those?
So is any headphone that costs $500.00 or more laughably overpriced and bought by only the dumbest fanboys, or people with too much money?

All other headphones on the market have better sound, offer more features, are better quality, and are half the price.  Other headphones that cost $500 and up are far superior to the lousy product Apple produced, and those other headphones are definitely worth the price of $500+.  Even the faithful Mac tech sites can't justify Apple's price for everything lacking in Apple's headphones.  Big difference there.  So yes, only the "dumbest fanboys and people with too much money" are buying them.

  • AirPods Max review: it's not easy to justify the price

Only Apple would make headphones without a headphone jack, without a power switch, with cloth that will get dirty, worn out, and hard to clean, and cripple the control of your music when you use their $35 wired cable for better audio.

Didn't AI recently have an article on how to disable the automatic device switching because it is annoying when the AirPods switch to another device without your control?  Like when they automatically switch to your Mac when you wanted to keep listening on your iPhone?

I have the Sony MX3s and they are amazing.  Excellent sound quality, excellent ANC, fold into a compact hard case, wired connection included, USB-C, excellent controls by swiping on the right ear (or covering the right ear to turn off ANC temporarily), customizable software in the Sony app, and zero issues with Bluetooth connection or wired (preferred for better audio), and all for over $200 less.

You nailed it with this review.  Mediocre sound quality (typical of all Apple sound products) and not good enough to justify the $549 price.  Apple could have had something if they were $349 or less to compete with Bose and Sony, but no audiophile will buy these headphones if that was the market they were hoping for.  Audiophiles or recording artists do not listen to Bluetooth audio.

Have they worked out the bugs for Big Sur yet? I haven’t downloaded it as of yet.
You, or people like you, ask this question every time an update is released. It’s a tired and useless question and the answer is simple. No, bugs have not been worked out and never will be. All software has bugs. There is no such thing as bug free software. However, millions of people are using Big Sur and being productive, carrying on with their lives. On tech blogs ALL you ever hear about are bugs, both real and imagined.

If you haven’t installed it yet you probably never will because of the question you asked. You want bug free software but it doesn't exist and never has.

And by the way, who do you accept as an authoritative source to tell you it’s okay to install Big Sure?
Stop being so angry dude, obviously he's asking whether the initial, more prominent bugs of any major OS release have been addressed, not that all conceivable bugs are gone.

And yes @pulseimages, it seems to be in a good place to me.  Ymmv depending on your specific setup and needs of course.
He has a valid point.  Incredibly stupid to ask 'are all the bugs worked out yet'.  Software always has bugs.  If the guy had a clue, he could install on an external drive and test his software to see if he encounters anything critical.  If not, then he can decide to upgrade.  Totally dumb to ask in any group...are all the bugs gone because I refuse to download it and test it on my own.  The guy should not own a computer if that is his mentality.

  • Apple issues first developer beta of macOS 11.2 [U]

So it does look like they are changing their version numbering to match iOS, as macOS becomes more and more like iOS.  More and more locked down.  Now you have to restart just to install a printer driver, after a number of pop-up warnings just to install the software.
So you automatically macOS is becoming more locked down because of a change in version numbering?
Did you even read what I said?  It is becoming more like iOS, which is more locked down.  You cannot even modify the system in any way.  macOS is now contained in a locked volume, and with Big Sur, it is worse than Catalina.  Next time learn how to read and comprehend.

  • UPS returning some AirPods Max shipments to Apple as 'hazardous materials' [u]

If it contains lithium batteries, those must typically be shipped by ground transport. This might be what this is about.
Wrong. How do you think iPhones get here from China?

Lithium batteries that are part of electronics equipment are permitted on aircraft.

You are not entirely correct because there are very strict requirements that must be met to transport items with lithium ion batteries, especially as a shipment.  And he is correct, typically within the United States, items with Lithium Ion batteries are shipped by Ground.
