    I own the X40. It’s… okay. But the AirPod portion is VERY temperamental. As in I fully expect it to not charge properly. The AirPod Pro “ding” constantly goes off making me think there’s not some proper power flow. And even when it doesn’t for a while, it invariably will eventually. 
    All I’m saying is buy it from a retailer you can return it to without hassle if needed. Mine was shipped straight from China (I was expecting it to come from the New York distribution center) and returning it seemed like a hassle so I’ll keep it. 
    That said, I bought it because of the clever design and the physical build quality is nice.

    I have this stand (using it now actually) and the stiff arms are no joke. Almost frustratingly so. I have heard though they can be loosened but that requires removing the coverings at the joints. Also, I wish the company would sell the magnetic plates individually for those of us that may upgrade to a larger (or smaller) iPad size in the future.  A commenter on another forum wished there was a ball joint where the plate attaches to the arm, but personally, I think the design is better without one (not inadvertent slippage over time).  All in all it’s a SOLID piece… but the stiff arms can be nearly a dealbreaker for some.
