  • Apple spotlights role of iPad Pro in Pompeii archaeology

I lost loved ones and it's hard and honestly way more difficult than you think - but you got to let go - pompeii happened thousand of years ago, I feel bad for the people who survived the Volcano - must have been tough - I'm not trying to sound insensitive, but just let it go - It was done thousands of years ago - stop messing with peoples graves, thats actually blasphemous  - and taking their rightfully owned treasures, they were probably in Egypt building the pyramids and sending cash home which take months.
I mean this with genuine care – are you, uh, doing okay, buddy?  :#

  • AirPods will get USB-C charging cases in 2023, Kuo says

Can anyone verify his “sayings”? It seems that he sits in his office and pontificates from in high.
You must be new to the storied world of the Apple Rumor Mill. There's a reason Ming-Chi Kuo is perhaps the most reputable analyst in the field (other than display analyst Ross Young). He has an established record of a decade+, which is available to you through a five-second Google search. He does not "pontificate" – he reports. He is not up "high" – he is down on the ground, with his sources, which he knows intimately, being based in the part of Asia where the components for Apple devices are sourced and manufactured.

That said, most so-called "analysts" are indeed full of 💩, and don't know anything about
anything – but Kuo is notable enough of an exception that his name deserves immediate recognition, and disassociation from the general horseshit associated with the "analyst" moniker.

  • Faking an iPhone shutdown could allow malware to survive a reboot

This wouldn't survive a hardware reboot, which for the past half decade has been pressing volume up, then volume down, then holding the side button.

So disappointed that Video is not mentioned to have Thread support. It's definitely a must for robust connectivity. I am tired of waiting for the devices to be loaded if they go offline.

That's... not a thing. Do you understand what Thread is? It doesn't support video, and it never will. That's literally not the use case for which it was designed!

Thread had a max bandwidth of 250 kbps. Streaming HD window requires 5 Mbps sustained.
