  • Here's when and where Apple will alert you to an AirTag used for stalking

I tried it twice already. the find my network doesn't work at all. My gfs phone doesn't update my airtag's location, not in normal, nor in lost mode. When I tried to 'identify lost item' her phone just kept 'scanning' forever. The whole thing seems to be still very buggy. Hey, it only came 2 years late, so I guess that has to be expected.

  • In defense of Apple's iPhone Leather Wallet with MagSafe

I would prefer it to carry 1 more card, but otherwise it's great and the only wallet I carry since last fall.

  • Former Apple designer recounts teasing Steve Jobs over NeXT vs OS X

How would he have bought the NeXT 'specifically' for that in 1995? Steve wasn't back at Apple and OS X wasn't in the work.
He had the NeXT fo years and brought it in to proof Steve wrong.

In other words it doesn’t work yet natively.  Premature announcement makes me not trust this company in the least
You mean like Apple saying that the switch would require minimal work on the part of developers and many could get it done in, I think Cook said, a day? Even with an apparent collaboration between the two companies it appears to be a major undertaking. If you use photoshop in any serious way you are still using the released production version and not a beta version released for companies that want to at least start testing the required change in workflow. Most don’t just wake up in the morning and randomly start installing beta software for production use! You should trust companies that make this possible more, not less!
It does require minimal work if you use modern APIs and write modern code. If you of course use APIs from the original mac os and have a lot of code that was originally written for the 68k, it may look differently :) (only slightly exaggerating). Ever noticed that it's ALWAYS is Adboe that take forever with everything they do?

  • Apple brings back 'AirTags' anti-stalking feature in latest iOS 14.5 beta

This is going to be a real PAIN. Suppose I get on a train for a couple of hours and ten people are in the train with their own AirTags. Am I going to get notifications from that? How would iOS know when I'm being tracked and when I'm not? Is it just based on time? What's the time minimum that triggers the warning? An hour? A day? A week?
If the owner is nearby the tag, I guess that would suppress that kind of message.
