Apple's Mac Studio launches with new M1 Ultra chip in a compact package
epicurus13 said:At the end when he said we have one more but that’s for another day and said the Mac Pro… so this studio isn’t going to be their biggest powerhouse but merely a stepping stone.. What the hell will the new Mac Pro be packed with??
and in case you missed it. when announcing the new M1 chip it was notably introduced as "we're adding one more chip to the M1 family"

Kanye West won't release 'Donda 2' on 'oppressive' Apple Music or Spotify
chadbag said:Actually the "stem player" sound interesting. Not because I want to listen to his music (I lost definitely don't) but if they can get all the large libraries on board to sell their tracks on it and actually support its features on all their music it could be a great device. Specifically the "stem" feature that lets you isolate tracks at the push of a button. Pushing a button to get an isolated guitar or bass or drums or synth part would be awesome for people learning a song. There used to be a software package that sold songs that had all tracks isolated (and would notate the song on screen). This is a spiritual follow on and could be awesome.
The 'stem' thing already does exist. Take for example the app DJay Pro AI which can separate the four stems Drums, Bass, Harmonic and Vocals. Great for DJ and especially remixers. -
Apple wants 27% commission for Dutch apps using third-party payments
xyzzy-xxx said:foregoneconclusion said:xyzzy-xxx said: You are wrong here: Price increase would come from the developer (absolute price) and Apple would participate indirectly (absolute commission increases because it is percentage)
Did you cut class the day they taught critical thinking skills? Or just happily trolling along here? -
Senate Judiciary advances bill that would force Apple to allow iOS side-loading
Hardly any users will opt for the unsafe open version of iOS on the devices they use the most. If those apps jumped to side loading, they would see almost all their iOS users vanish over night. No company will make that decision.
hmmm, wrong.
You live in a tech forum bubble if you believe your own version of this. There will be an insane rush for people to side load. Finally they will think can have their freedom of apps and not deal with the official App Store. Then the clowns (non tech forum people) will be SHOCKED and PISSED at Apple when their iPhone is compromised. Imagine getting a locked screen demanding a ransom. Ya know, like PCs and Mac viruses. Then they will cry that Apple 'sucks' LOL! Outside of these cringe tech forums there are millions of naive (aka alot of stupid people) that use technology, both iOS and Android.
At the dawn of iOS Apple imagined a walled garden to protect YOU, the user. Hopefully Apple will figure out a way to continue it.
